This place continues each year to improve on campers over all experience. It is nice to see more families camping with young children. The beach is incredible and the sites are never disappointing. If you don't have fire wood not to worry you can by dry firewood that is stored in containers. Also if your worried about not having the...

Absolutely beautiful location and worth the trip. My family particularly enjoyed this camping trip because it was relaxing yet somedays we were kept busy by the activities and amenities. Trails, fishing, swimming, hikes, kayaking, canoeing, etc. We particularly enjoyed the aboriginal museum that was onsite, the museum was informational and accurate. Prices were reasonable and we are excited to visit...

This is a secret little gem that is really relaxing once u get there. The spots are a good size and fairly private. Our site was beach front. When we first arrived we went to check the view (the beach which was right at out sites edge) and there were whales blowing! What a start to a great family weekend!...

Absolutely beautiful location and worth the trip. We took the southern route there and northern route back. I have details on the drive at the end of my review. Location: 5/5 Facilities: 5/5 Management: 3/5 This is a beautiful spot. Amazing quiet bay. We got to see a sea lion sunning on the beach over our stay. The sites are...

We love camping at Pachena in late summer as they are almost always able to allow campfires being in the fog zone! Huge beach shared by few other people. Can be foggy and cool but if you want heat go to Mexico! Well cared for and nice flush toilets and hot water. $1 showers. Only complaint is a shortage of...

This was the second time visiting The Pachena Bay campground and I was instantly amazed the moment we pulled up to our spot. The view is stunning! Yes the drive is a little hairy, I found the Port Alberni way to be better but it was a few years ago that I took the Lake Cowichan route. The drive keeps...

The camp ground featured large, clean and private camp sites. There were 2 new bathrooms with hot and cold running water (which I loved) - and showers by the main office. It was so quiet mid week. Staff were friendly and helpful. Being mid week we also often had the huge sandy beach almost to ourselves. The drive was 2...

We love camping here, the beach is awesome and the beach side sites are big. Lots of improvements happening with new bathrooms with warm water. Each year the accommodations are improving. Perfect for families. Wish there were cabins for families to rent.

Unfortunately the drive in from Pt. Alberni was such that after 15 kms we turned around and cancelled our reservation. I spoke to a staff member about it who said potholes in road were worse the other way. Perhaps if we had our SUV we would have ventured forth but with the camperized van it was just toooo slow with...

“some good sites along the beach. Make sure you bring all your own food and supplies. You do not want to have to buy anything in Bamfield.”

“A tip on the town ... stock up on supplies before you go. The one store in town is outrageously priced (bag of chips almost $6) and many items don't have price tags so you get the shock of your life when everything is rung up!”
