Just on our way home from a perfect stay at Church Farm. We were welcomed with a lovely homemade cake and fresh flowers. The location of the cottages is perfect for getting anywhere in the Peak District in very reasonable time, but also far enough away to enjoy the peaceful tranquillity of the dales. The cottages are lovely, the entrance...

Recently stayed for a week with our dog and the location couldn't have been better for walking straight from your doorstep. There are 3 footpaths leading from the farm and you could easily walk to popular areas such as Dovedale and Tissington among many others. They provide you with an OS map if you forget to bring your own. The...

Just returned from our second short break at Church Farm Cottages. It is easier to write complaints and negative reviews, but I can't think of anything negative to say about the welcome, the cottages or the relaxed atmosphere which made our stay seem longer than just four days. The cottages are beautifully equipped, spotless and have a good array of...

Excellent accommodation, spotlessly clean with every attention to the smallest details. Very friendly hosts who are there if you need them and wonderful at putting you at ease. The family are delighted to show you their family of animals, cats, dogs, lambs and a turkey called Tessa who thinks she's an honorary human walking with us on our tour of...

Our group of 9 friends stayed over a sunny April weekend for a wedding held in nearby Tissington Hall. We filled both Pinster and Winnets cottage - both were beautifully furnished and there was plenty of space for the whole group to gather together in the upstairs space in Pinster (we also gathered in Winnets, but Pinster has the slightly...

We (family of four; Mum, Dad and two teenagers) have just returned from a lovely 4 night stay over the Easter holidays. The cottage (Winnets) is characterful, comfortable, warm and well-equipped. The farm is really interesting with rare breed cattle and miniature ponies. The owners are lovely and welcoming. It is a great base for cycling, with the Tissington trail,...

We have just returned from a weeks holiday staying in Winnets Cottage on Church Farm. This was our second visit, having stayed about 6 years ago. The accommodation is spotless, very comfortable and has everything you could possibly require. Chris and Christine are great hosts and my boys loved seeing the animals and machinery on the farm. We were also...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Church Farm nestles alongside the historic Norman church in the tiny village of Alsop en le Dale, at the head of one of the most beautiful but undiscovered dales in the Peak National Park. Our topsy-turvy cottages were created from an old barn on the farm. They have a wealth of character with high ceilings and and exposed beams, are at the top end of the Tourist Board Scheme and inspected annually. They are situated in the cobbled yard of our Rare Breeds farm and are just the place for your Peak District Derbyshire holiday. Winnets is the larger of the two cottages. There is a downstairs single bedroom, another single bedroom upstairs and a double bedroom that overlooks the courtyard (an additional identical full sized bed is available for the single room, if required to accommodate an extra person 5 max in cottage). Pinster has one double bedroom and one single. An additional identical full sized bed is available for the single room, if required, to accommodate an extra person (4 max in cottage). Changeover is on a Saturday. Prices for the week vary from £260 to £475 depending on the time of year. Between the end of October and 1st April except for Christmas and New Year, the cottages may be booked for Winter Breaks for any period of 3 days or more. The first three nights are charged at £170 [Pinster] or £180 [Winnets] for two people sharing. If there are more than two people, the price is £210 [Pinster] or £240 [Winnets]. Each additional night is £38 [Pinster] or £40 [Winnets]. ... more   less

“We stayed in Winnets cottage, but I imagine Pinster is laid out just a well. I don't think you could go wrong with either one.”

“our cottage had one double and one single (although apparently they have a full sized extra bed that can fit into the room), the other cottage has space for more people.”
