After a rubbish first experience camping, I wasn't excited about our two night camp at Riverdale! We'd booked The Meadow with no electricity! This was a family trip, 12 of us (5 kids) in four tents. The Meadow is as basic as it gets. Having to park then move all the stuff to the field is a drag but stops...

We stopped for two nights, Sat & Sun. We camped on the top field, a bit of a pain that you cannot park your car next to your tent but they did let us know before we booked. The field is very uneven and the grass very long in places, making pitching a little more difficult, but you can pitch...

A well located site that was always clean and tidy. The shower facilities were lovely and warm and were never busy. The site is lovely and peaceful during the week but is much noisier at weekends, we experienced several groups being noisy until well after midnight which wasn't great but that's the risk with sleeping in a tent. The shop...

We have just returned from this site, stayed for 3 nights, £29 per night. We have a 2 berth caravan and awning, and the pitch allocated was not big enough, after paying extra for awning, we had only just enough space one side to fit the water bottles, and only 6" away from the hedge on the other side, that...

We have just spent 3 nights in a pod here and have said we will definitely return. Pod was fine for what we needed and wanted and their was plenty of space for 2 beds, 2 chairs and the dog in the evenings. We spent much of the evening sitting outside the pod with plenty of space to all sit...

Friendly staff and a well looked after site. Very clean toilet/shower block but the only one on site and if positioned at the edge of the site such as us, a very long walk in the middle of the night! Entrance to the block is also entry by a code-pad, which is rather frustrating if you trek there and realise...

Overpriced and dirty summed this site up! After camping for many years Ive stayed on a lot of sites but this one is up there with some of the worst Ive stayed on. They have a little cafe which although overpriced for food, did do a nice hot drink. The pitches are separated by individual hedges that do offer privacy,...

I was surprised by this review, which seemed more concerned with promoting alternative sites in the area, than about accurately describing this one. Certainly if I had half as bad an experience as the one you describe, the manager & staff would not be finding out about it on Tripadvisor - they would know in reception very rapidly. The hard-standing...

Stayed for two nights in a pod . First impression of the campsite is that it looks very tired and in need of a good clean and spruce up. Signage has paint peeling. Road very dusty and unswept. Planters outside shop and cafe all dried up and neglected. No issue with the reception staff and the shop itself has an...

Thank you for your review. The pods are located in two areas, one of which is about 250 metres from the main toilet building -which we explain to every guest interested in booking in a pod. However, we recognise this is inconvenient in the evening (when the facilities that are closer behind reception shut) - hence the reason we are...

I was a bit concerned after reading some very negative comments about this place but I couldn't have been more wrong!! I was greeted by very friendly staff and shown where our pitch was which was wonderful! Massive pitch sizes, we were in Willowbottom on plot 15, these are awning pitches which you need to request and are well worth...

We have stayed in pods on many sites and always had a good welcome, a good location and it's been clean. On this occasion we were guided up a dirt path to what could only be described as a building site. The ground was full of weeds and hadn't been tended. The walk to either of the two shower blocks...

Thank you for your review; we are very sorry you did not enjoy your stay. With regard to the construction of the new eco spa and toilet building, we have been telling everybody, at the time of booking, that building work is being carried out - you have our sincere apologies for not being informed. The weeds in the limestone...
