We checked into Callow Hall today for overnight stay in a 'luxury room'. The cost was £160 for the night B&B so we were expecting great things. How wrong we were! as I write this review I am at home! We checked out rather than stay over. The room was just adequate despite an upgrade to a 4 poster room....

Loved the location the friendliness of the staff , the location is superb , the food was perfect. We spent the day there very informally after the wedding breakfast it was very warm and relaxed and comfortable The only slight criticism was the rooms were rather small and the bathroom was ready for an update all of which was off...

Reasonably comfortable, old worldly but not as classy as it looks. Food, both dinner and breakfast were just ok. Run with minimal staff although receptionist/barmaid/waitress did a very good job. Surroundings were very much rural, a beautiful location.

We were originally given a room at the back of the hotel and the heating was still turned on and we couldn't turn it off. We complained to the staff and they upgraded us to another room with a four poster bed. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. We were able to sit out on the terrace with a bottle...

What a lovely treat. Relaxing and luxurious. Food was all good- sandwiches lovely and scones amazing. Only disappointment was the cakes- not what I would normally expect. A bit stodgy and heavy, just get some better cakes and the whole experience would be amazing. Would definitely go back for a cream tea.

We have just returned from a lovely evening at Callow Hall. We have had an excellent meal and very good service. It was nice as we were the only couple in the restaurant so it was a more romantic atmosphere.

We stayed in Ashbourne for a friends 40th and stayed at Callow Hall. The hotel was wonderful and the staff very friendly. Breakfast overlooking the fantastic views was a real treat, we'll be back soon.
