We booked a last minute night here and were so glad that we did! We were greeted with warmth and friendliness. The room was lovely and comfortable. We went for a walk around Tissington in the afternoon, which was a great little quaint town. Back to Bassettwood for a great night's sleep and a lovely homecooked full English the next...

The second time that I've visited and the welcome offered by this beautiful farm has not diminished in the slightest. We were greeted by the brilliant gang of Pygmy goats nod carried on to find a trio of newly born lambs. Soon after, the tempting offer of a cup of tea and freshly baked scones came from the owners of...

We stumbled on Bassettwood and the Tea Rooms and we were delighted we did. The scones were fresh and delicious as were the accompanying jam and clotted cream. Welcoming and friendly and were lucky enough to be shown the pygmy goats on our departure. If you're after an authentic afternoon tea experience give Bassettwood a go.

Our family have just returned from an overnight stay at Bassettwood which we really enjoyed! The farm is quite remote but in a really lovely spot in the beautiful village of Tissington. We started our stay with a cream tea in the small tea room which I can honestly say was probably the nicest I have ever eaten! Our room...

Wonderful welcoming place which is perfect for children. We spent two days here and we all loved it. The hosts Bryan & Sarah really made us feel at home and encouraged the kids to help feed all the animals. The bedroom was very cosy and breakfast was beautifully cooked with local produce. It's the perfect place to explore the Peak...

My other half and I spent one night in the Shepherd's Hut which is some of the most delightful accommodation I have stayed in. Beautifully decorated and clean with provisions for hot drinks, etc. Staying on a working farm added to the experience and the surroundings could not be more picturesque. Breakfast was lovely, though a little difficult to eat...

We called for afternoon tea. The scones were warm from the oven, the sandwiches good with salad and crisps. Unfortunately the muffins were unavailable but the salmon arrived on toast as arranged. It's not every establishment where they could bring a three day old lamb into the dining area, but they did here! Everyone cooed over the lamb. It was...

To keep things brief; What a beautiful afternoon in Tissington that consisted of a tranquil walk from the village to Bassettwood. Exemplary service (felt more like friends than customers) and the food is fantastic (and very reasonably priced considering the backdrop.) If you're an animal lover, you'll love the little farm around the corner. Make sure you give little Stevie...

“The website describes the Hut and Bell Tent as being in the 'orchard'. In reality they are next to the farmhouse in a little field with a few trees. It is pretty all the same but not tucked away from the house.”
