The cabins are set in the extensive grounds which have their own trails Each cabin is set well away from the others so you have a real sense of privacy. The cabins are of a good size and everything works although some of the fitting out leaves something to be deserved. I think all owners of rental properties should spend a few days living in them to spot that having say a microwave is all well and good but not having a chopping board is very annoying. There are some very nice touches such as fresh flowers being provided each day.Unusual and a really nice surprise each day.Our cabin was clean and there were no insects in them. The location is great as the Nat Reserve is just down the road. Also just outside of the entrance to the left there’s a wonderful spot to view the

We stayed in lodge 17 for 2 nights. A lovely family run business located in a mature well managed forest environment. The lodge was huge, unique and was very fitting to the environment, it even included a wildlife look out window! Each lodge was spaced well apart from each other, so you felt you had the whole place to yourself, there was also a lovely walk onsite where we saw lots of wildlife, and although breakfast isn’t included there is a bakery opposite which was great and run by lovely people. On our tour of Costa Rica, this was our favourite accommodation.

Honestly, you can't summarize this property in a review, it's just absolutely amazing. While I don't know much about Monteverde, in my research, I didn't find anything that was quite as unique as this property. From the isolated cabins that gave our family a feeling of being together while having the seclusion in a quiet place to the viewpoints, greenhouses and just downright breathtaking scenery, it would be hard to recommend anywhere else in Monteverde. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. We didn't have any problems or complaints and truly enjoyed our stay. And it was actually much more economical for 5 of us to stay in a family cabin, rather than 3 separate hotel rooms. We were also able to cook and eat meals within the cabin and watch a couple of american

Let me start off by saying that I absolutely loved the estate these cabins are located on. The entire area and gardens were well-kept and stunning. You can see that the owners really care about nature, the overall quality of their property and sustainability. There are also a lot of animals roaming the grounds. Inside the cabin, it was a completely different picture, however. The place was bug-infested and filthy. I understand that this is in the middle of the jungle and that insects might get inside, but to this degree, it was simply unacceptable. There were literally worms and maggots along the walls, and dead flies, and squished mosquitos all over the place. I also found long hairs on the bathroom wall, which were still there after my three-night stay. It was something out

Response from Rafael Arguedas, General Manager at Los Pinos - Cabanas y Jardines
