Los Pinos Lodge and Gardens is a little piece of heaven on earth. We stayed in January of 2020. Each room is its own cabin and they are spread along the ridge line so as to provide privacy and solitude to the guests. There is no restaurant on the property, but each cabin has a kitchenette if you want to cook for yourself. If not, there are a variety of restaurants within a few minute's drive. Every room has a hammock and a veranda where you can swing or sit and enjoy the sounds of nature in the surrounding forest. There is a fireplace inside and a grill on the veranda. Firewood is provided. Unusual for Costa Rica where twin beds are the norm, our room had a king sized bed. This is a welcome treat for this 6'2" male. There is a hiking trail on the property that leads up…
I am getting ready to check out in a few minutes and am so sad to be leaving. I was here with a group of university students studying biology, and what a perfect place for that! We had several cabins, all were beautiful, with thoughtful touches throughout. The family that owns and operates the property is very kind and hospitable. All of my students have said what a wonderful experience they had here. I very much hope I will be able to return in the future.
We stayed here early December, 2 adults and 2 young children. It was our first stop in Costa Rica after arriving in San Jose from Scotland for a months tour. We stated for 4 nights and weren't disappointed. Although it is close to the town it is far enough away to feel like its isolated and quiet. The place wasnt busy when we arrived and the staff were so helpful. It was my wifes birthday and they supplied some gifts of chocolate and coffee which was very nice. The staff also arranged for my two children to plant trees nearby for no extra charge which was very decent. The staff assisted with a few excursions and pointed us to the best tours which was nice. The accommodation was good. Very secure and clean and big enough for our family, in fact we had a spare bedroom for…
Only had 1 night in Monteverde and chose to stay at Los Pinos. I can only say, I will be back for sure, for longer. Their cabin we stayed in was outstanding. The property is beautiful, well landscaped, and is a reserve on its own. The family owners are very nice, service oriented and rightfully proud of their facility. They continually improve it and donate time and money to improvement of the area. Well done!
We recently spent 3 nights in a superior cabin. This is a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. The cabin is spacious, has big windows and is perfectly equipped for simple self catering. The stained glass windows in the bathroom and the fresh flowers were really nice touches and the toiletries provided were good quality. We even used the wood burner one night for a treat and there is plenty of wood available. The only minor improvements would be a couple of extra towels (ours tended to stay damp), non feather pillows, and a bedside reading lamp. The housekeeping was light touch but they did the essentials. There are nice short trails on the property leading to an excellent viewpoint. Unfortunately our timing never worked to buy any produce grown on site but it looked good. The…
