We loved this place. It is a beautiful quiet location but within walking distance to a great grocery store and some tasty restaurants. The cabin's are lovely and are well-equipped for cooking. They were spotless and the beds were comfortable. The walking paths are fabulous and my gardener husband was fascinated with the on-site garden. Staff are helpful and friendly. When we return to Monteverde, this would be the only place we want to stay!
We arrived here for a three night stay and we were greeted by a lovely employee of the cabins. Our stay there could not have been any better. Rooms were spotless, beds were comfortable. And the cooking facility was more than adequate for anything we wanted to do. Coffee , tea were replaced as needed. They also provided sugar, salt and pepper as well as oil and vinegar. One thing to note about this area is being your own coffee mate as cream and even milk are quite expensive to purchase. Raphael the host on location was also fantastic for any information we needed and any recommendations he gave were spot on. Excellent location. 6 places to eat within very very easy walking distance. If we are ever lucky enough to be in the area again we would absolutely hope we would be able to stay here again! Rates were very reasonable for what you received.…
Stayed in the superior cabin, very clean and tidy. Had an excellent large bay window in the bedroom where we got to watch the wildlife up close. Bed was large and very comfy, got a great nights sleep. Shower was excellent, a really good rain shower. Well equipped kitchen with essentials such as coffee, tea and sugar provided. Stunning location, felt like we were in the forest. Supermarket and restaurants close by for supplies. And town just a short walk away. Host very nice and friendly and very informative. If we hadn't been on a tour we would have stayed longer Thanks los pinos
Los Pinos was a fabulous place to stay. My husband and I had 3 nights in one of the cabins and so wish we had booked for a longer stay! The family who own and manage the property were wonderful to deal with, they arranged out birding tours and shuttles. The local guide they picked for us was marvelous! Additionally their information on the local area, where to eat, do laundry, information regarding the nearby preserves and flora and fauna was exceptional. The grounds are gorgeous as was our cabin, truly the website pictures do not do the place justice. It was also so quiet despite Monte Verde being a bustling area, and it is easy to walk to the town and great restaurants, the cheese factory and Curi Cancha reserve among other areas. Communication prior to our arrival was exceptional and prompt. We would return here in an instant and stay a week! There are several hiking trails on the property, one with a great overlook out to the Pacific which was great at Sunset. There are also lots of birds to observe on the property.…
We stayed at los pinos for three days in room 12. The setting in the cloud forest is beautiful, but our room was FULL OF BED BUGS. Initially we thought it’s mosquitos but we soon realized that the bites were happening at night. By the time we left we were all covered in bed bug bites. As soon as we got to our new hotel we spent a day of our vacation washing all our clothes and our suitcases and bags. We’ll do it again as soon as we get home but we’re freaked out that we might bring them home. This made our vacation stressful instead of relaxing, not to mention the awful itchiness of the bites. We emailed los pinos to let them know about the bed bugs, but no response from them. My advice: avoid los pinos like the pest!
Had a little hard time finding the place becaue we lost our internet connection but really exceeded expectaions. Very beautiful property. Cabin was spacious and well mainntained. Full Kitchen. Property is well maintained and is exceptional. Wildlife and flowers abundent. A number of hiking trails on the property. Gazebo with hammock and swing! Staff very friendly and helpful. We hiked to and from town although some might find the hills on the return trip a bit challenging. Really loved this place. Only stayed two days because of our schedue but would have been content for a week.
This is great place to use for exploring Monteverde. We visited The Hanging Bridges & Don Juan, coffee, sugar cane and cacao tour. Our host was friendly and helpful. The lodges were exceptionally clean, and well equipped. There is access to several nature walks. There is no restaurant on site but a short walk away is bakery, restaurants etc. Well recommended place
Lovely family run property in Monteverde. The staff are very welcoming and provided us a free upgrade to a large cabin as our original one was close to ongoing work. The trails on the property are worth exploring. Town is a little tricky to reach, particularly in the dark due to the roads. However, local taxis are around and only cost $3/4 to take you to most destinations.
Absolutely loved this place! Would come back 100%. The property was quaint and tranquil. The owners were incredibly kind and helpful. The cabin was clean and cute (recommend booking one with a fireplace).
We loved our cottage/cabin nestled in the trees and foliage. It felt like we were secluded and away from everything yet we were close to town and activities. Easy parking and spacious rooms with large, wonderful windows. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend Los Pinos.
