Can't praise this this pub highly enough, we stayed for 2 nights, the room was very clean, food excellent, staff very friendly Richard the owner, is very friendly and quite funny too, but probably not as friendly as Billy the cat !, would definatley recommend staying here or even just for a meal and a drink....BRILLIANT ! !

Excellent little country pub with friendly welcome from very pleasant staff. Our room was comfortable & clean, the quick Sunday night supper tasted great but the breakfast, freshly cooked by Richard, was delicious, with special mention of the raspberry jam!

Third time here and we will keep coming back. Land lord and staff always very welcoming and obliging. Absolutely nothing is to much for them. It's food is no nonsense pub grub and large portions of it. The lunch menu at £4.95 is exceptional value for money. I just don't know how they do it quite frankly. We will be...

Used this as an overnight stay when travelling to the area. The room was a good size with an excellent bathroom, breakfast was very good,. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The car park has limited spaces although this did not prove to be a problem.

Went for birthday lunch. Food was excellent. Very filling but also quality. I had the steak & ale pie with vegetables all locally produced. Warning - you will not be able to eat it all. I didn't try the booze but usual beers & soft drinks available. Nice service. Recommended.

My girlfriend and I took my mum for a birthday meal. Having visited the White Swan in Kirkburton a few days ago and being very impressed, we decided to visit this, its sister pub. It is located next to a farm and so the area is rather 'fragrant', but there are stunning views and it is a lovely walk through...

My lady was ready for a pick-me-up and a birthday treat - what more could she want than a nostalgia trip back to our favourite almost local for tasty dinner. Landlord Richard welcomed us with open arms and we supped on a tasty Sauvignon Blanc and a well kept Farmer's Blonde while perusing the latest menu - Great English Grub...

We stayed here for two nights in March 17 while attending a family celebration. It is a pub with comfortable rooms. The staff and landlord make you very welcome. We had one evening meal and two breakfasts and they were excellent. Recommended
