I have to say this has been one of the most unwelcoming places I have ever encountered let alone eat in this was a HUGE mistake to take my family here for Sunday lunch what a complete waste of money and a high risk of food poisoning we ordered Sunday Roast and the food very little of it was thrown...

Spent three nights here with another couple. Not the most luxurious of hotels but adequate for a few nights stop and in an ideal location to visit the local area. We were well looked after by very pleasant and helpful staff and the food, both at breakfast and evening meal was excellent. Would stop there again if we returned to...

The hotel location was excellent for walking and visiting the upper Wye Valley. The staff was very welcoming and efficient. The restaurant has a good choice of food and our meals including breakfast were delicious and good value for money. Overall an enjoyable stay. The building has character but is in some respects old fashioned I.e. no TV in the’...

Stayed one night with my sister prior to a spa day in Hereford. This is a very pleasant place to stay, the rooms are very good (would have liked somewhere to hang clothes in the bathroom) with all you need in the room and good toiletries should you forget your own. The food in the restaurant is of a high...

We only stopped over for a one night stay but found the establishment well run, clean and with excellent service. Whilst located near to the main road the hotel has ample grounds and is convenient for visiting all areas of the Wye valley. Our room was spotless and probably one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in....

This is a country inn that is really old and been improved but not had the character destroyed. The food is lovely and the staff really helpful. It has a calm atmosphere although it is on a main road it is not full of traffic at the time, You can walk from the hotel in cider apple orchards. We stayed to...

Stayed here whilst travelling through Herefordshire. Lovely place, rooms really nice and the whole place was charming with fantastic apple orchards surrounding it. Breakfast was amazing, as was the food generally (had dinner, all of us enjoyed our meals and great wine list). Staff were an absolute delight, housekeeping lady was lovely and the waitress was very friendly and helpful....

Stopped here for lunch and the food was very good, obviously the chef is good at his/her job. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the manager! His attitude was extremely rude and unwelcoming and would certainly put me off going there again, a real shame.

We stay at the Portway Inn once a year on the same weekend every year and have done for the last 5 years. We have always praised the service, affordability, quality of food and location. However this year, we experienced appalling customer service. My partner and I paid £89 for a superior room which included breakfast. We enjoyed a very...

This was obviously a difficult situation. Not only did you stay in your room past our check-out time of 11am, you took more than 2 hours to leave after being reminded that check-out had finished, by which point the next day's check-in was already open and the customer booked in that night to the room you were still occupying had...
