The house was perfect for a large group of fourteen friends. It's located right on the waters edge, overlooking the loch for wonderful views. We were welcomed by Murray the housekeeper who showed us round and answered any questions about the area. Bedrooms were great, plenty of room for fourteen of us with a few bedrooms left spare! The pool...

Travelled from Australia and stayed with friends. Nothing prepared me for how beautiful and still this place was. The stationmasters lodge is a place to celebrate time with friends and family, and find peace and solitude beside Loch Carron and her undulating landscape. Comfortable and warm, the open area for lounging, cooking and dining made the perfect setting for spending...

A group of eight of us spent two nights at the lodge and the house is in an idyllic location if you want peace and quiet in a beautiful location. The lodge is located on Loch Carron and the only noises around you are the birds and an occasional train. The lodge itself is exceptionally well equipped. The kitchen has...

We spent a lovely 3 days based at the lodge while touring and siteseeing the local area. The large house managed to comfortably accomodate 14 of my friends and I. The location is peaceful, set beautifully on the lochside and acted as a wonderful place to rest and recuperate after a hard day's trekking and adventure.

It was a lovely experience. When we arrived the whole house was heated and fire was going. We were warmly welcomed and even given a scotch Whisky. The place is clean and well kept. Many indoor games for children and adults. Even have a small pool table. Last day Murray, the care taker was so kind enough to put on...

Stationmasters Hostel is really a holiday house on Loch Carron! The location is a stunning Scottish Loch in a quiet village, adding a lovely country feel to the trip. The house is well furnished and looked after, although being over 100 years old. I would love to rent out the house for a weekend again! Would recommend to others :)...

You may feel a bit stranded here, as there is literally the hostel and a couple of houses in the direct vicinity but it is well worth a visit!! Very peaceful with gorgeous views and only 5 minutes drive to the nearest town with pubs and restaurants. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless, and the atmosphere in the lounge/kitchen was...

Please believe them when they say there is no civilization around (if you don't have a car). The views are so gorgeous and it's a beautiful place right in the lake. Conveniently close to the train station, and a great place to stay before Kyle/Skye—just make sure to bring food and supplies. The owners are so friendly and helpful, and...

“Tips & Tricks: Bring some things to cook! Try asking around the butchery and seeing if they have local dishes for you to try your hand at and spend some time in the kitchen. There aren't any good take-out places nearby but that's sort of the point isn't it? The hostel is quite clean, didn't even have to unroll a sleeping bag. There is a window to the left of the fireplace in the living room with a tartan cushion. This is the perfect place to watch the sun come up and spot some otters without having to leave the warmth of indoors. Ask them to strike up a bonfire! Don't spend all of your time on you computer! Yes they have wifi but they also have miles of hiking trails and great Scottish hospitality, take advantage!”
