We arrived on a cold rainy night. The way the castle looked was the best part of the stay. No one was at reception. We waited about 10 minutes. When we checked in we were told the restaurant was closed, presumably permanently. The bar was supposed to be open. The room was comfortable but there were maybe 5 rooms occupied....

It's probably the only reason why you'd come to this town really, there's nothing beautifully Italian about the surroundings. With Bergamo only 20km away and what that has to offer, I don't know why you'd come here above there. We're on our way south and were in Bergamo the night before where we have been many times before and will...

We were there for a couple of nights. The room was clean and comfortable. The surroundings were lovely and the building in itself was quite spectacular and possibly the only reason to stay there. The facilities, however, would not allow guests with mobility difficulties: there are no ramps and some places have diffferent levels - not mentioned on the website...

After four weeks travelling Europe this was such a wonderful place. We were collected by the hotel which was a welcome relief from the heat at the train station. Unfortunately the resturant was closed for renovation so we weren't able to try their food which I heard was amazing. The breakfast was as others suggested limited. The location is quiet...

Five star is solely for this simply stunning building which is simply fantabulously splendiferous. Wow! We booked standard rooms, but we're very disappointed. We did a deal to upgrade to suites 507 & 510 (quite cheaply!) and they were, in general, stunning. Regards location, if you don't mind driving then Milan is half an hour away & Venice around 2.5...

Stayed for 2 nights at this charming fortress - Staff were super nice and friendly - Was given a suite at equal price to std room as the std rooms were full. Felt like royalty walking through the courtyard and into the main building. Historical, large, very clean, spacious, friendly. Many restaurants around the village and safe and easy surroundings....

We spent 2 nights in room 102 in October. It lacks something. The reception was efficient and they did find us a needle and thread when asked but there was no pleasant smile or greeting. The room and bathroom are fine, a bit dark maybe but this is an old fort and the weather was grey so to be expected....

What a fantastic place to stay, not perfect but the location made up for the negatives. I was here for a business conference. Located outside of Milan the taxi drive was a bit fraught and the taxi driver did not know exactly where the hotel was. The history of the building is not displayed enough and I suspect is shared...

The fortress is an impressive structure and it's clear there's been an investment in redeveloping it. All in all, the hotel part of the development just doesn't work as an experience. This seems like more of a meeting venue than hotel. Reception is understaffed and un-empowered. When we checked in the person working the front desk was the one who...

This is a gorgeous 13th century castle with a bar and restaurant. Them rooms are luxurious and the staff is great. There's a nice park by the river and a inaccessible villa, but There's not much to see or do in Cassano d'Adda. Nevertheless it's definitely worth a stop if you're on a road trip in northern Italy just to...
