It was our first visit to France, and we enjoyed our trip so much because of such hartley people as Olwen and Mike. They are were very nice and friendly. Interesting people and excellent hosts. They responded very quickly and gave us useful recommendations how to get to their place. The apartment in their summer house (gites) is very clean... More

This is our 5th visit to Nieudegat and went out of our way to visit, travelling back up through France. We love the peace and tranquility of the location and the warm hospitality of Olwen and Mike (and Warrior!) The gites were as we remembered - fully equipped and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable, As this was quite... More

Return visit, with friends, after great holiday in 2012. Gites are functional & clean. Location in Simeyrols is both quiet & handy to visit local attractions & river. Mike & Olwen were again great hosts and went out of their way to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The large pool is a major plus in the summer and highlights what... More

Hardly surprising to discover that Olwen and Mike get a lot of repeat business. Great rural location within easy reach of Sarlat and many other places of interest. Good, clean comfortable accommodation , great walking country from the door and very patient owners - even when our boisterous pups dug up their marigolds - we'll be back for certain.

The best thing about this place is the close proximity to Sarlat and the great places nearby. The gites are basic studio units in a single block of about six, set on a downward sloping site, with carparking behind them. The outlook is over forest, however, there is a huge drop in front of the path across the gites, so... More

We are really sorry that our accommodation did not meet the expections of this reviewer. However, there is a paved terrace in front of the gites which all other guests have used to sit out and eat and cook bbq's. The pool area is only 40 metres walk from the gites which affords a quiet area to relax outside the... More

For a family of 4 who were new to the Perigord Noir, Olwen and Mike Gelling's Nieudegat Gites was a great choice. If you are active like us and have lots you want to get done, Olwen/Mike's local understanding of hiking and biking trails (they are involved in the local biking club themselves),recommendations for evening and day markets, and best... My friend and I stayed here in June 2013 and loved it. Olwen and Mike were so nice and welcoming. The gite is cozy with upstairs and downstairs sleeping accommodations; for just the two of us it actually felt luxurious!. The surrounding landscape is richly wooded and a great escape from city life. The small kitchen was perfect for breakfasts... More

Really welcoming owners. Gite was small but had everything you need. It was fine for a family of 4 but the weather was great so we didn't spend any time inside. Lovely fenced pool with parasols around. Max depth 2m. Has machine to provide current in the pool if required so you can swim for miles without turning round!! Beautiful... More

We had a wonderful holiday in the Dordogne and couldn't have wished for a better place to stay than Nieudegat Gites, or better hosts than Olwen and Mike. From the welcoming drink when we arrived, to the suggestions of where to visit or eat out, Olwen and Mike helped to make our holiday special.
