We visited gibara for a day, the beach isnt great bit you can swim in it, the town ots small but picturesque with very friendly and genuine people, tje highlight of the place its its views of the town up from a mountain that xan be accessed by car or foot,great memories there!

Fine if you like shredded manky carrot with everything. Came here for lunch as part of a trip booked via our hotel. Carrot soup for starter, deepf fried chicken, rice and deep fried banana for main (chicken was dripping in grease) and a plate of marmalade with a cheese triangle on top for desert. This hotel is hidden away on the waterfront 3 blocks north-east of the church on the east corner of Plaza del Fuerte. The first impression is that it is a restaurant but there are 4 small, clean rooms upstairs with balconies over the ocean. I have stayed here several times although I usually stay in various, of the many, private...
