The house is full of oddities. Items picked up all over the place. Always something to look at. If you like cushions on the bed, then this is the place for you. I suspect that it may have closed, as the owner was trying to sell. Food options in Amherst are not great. Europeans note: Amherst people eat early. We...

This place and its proprietor Jim are indeed a tremendous resource in Amherst. A nice old house if somewhat querkily full of Inuit art. The juxtaposition of polar bears and lovely crockery was most engaging. The rooms are a little tiny but comfortable, warm and a nice view. Great wifi and good breakfast. Jim was most accommodating and made some...

The picture on this site must be old. Initial exterior view is not inviting very run down looking and junk on the porch. The house it self is very nice to see the opulence of days past but interior needs to be dejunked, had a jackolantern greet us and way to much other stuff. Property up for sale and might...

Stayed here for 3 nights at beginning of September, was greeted by Margaret our host and was made to feel at home straight away. We had booked the room called Josephine was a nice size room with a large en suite. The road that B&B is situated on is really quiet but very easily walkable into Amherst, less than a...

The whole house is tastefully and originally decorated in Victoriana style, and is a real hidden gem, not what you expect to find at all when you see the outside of the house. It has beautiful wooden carvings on the staircase, original carved wooden fireplace surrounds and mantels and loads of wood panelling - the rest is down to the...

Margaret and Colin have done a fabulous job with this inn. The outside is in need of an update but they have improved this home remarkably on the inside. Margaret is one of the most genuine people you will meet on the road. She loves owning a B&B and it shows. It's a wonderful experience in a small town that's...

The exterior is sadly not representative of the interior of the house. The entire house has a very nice warm and cozy atmosphere. For our taste however, we found there was a little clutter, for example on the mantles. (but we may be picky). We had the Josephine suite and it was wonderful; the size of the room as well...

Walking distance from center of Amherst, you will open the door to a Victorian mansion, with original immaculately restored wood floors and staircases. The rooms are tastefully Victorian, bathrooms have been remodeled. Our trip was in August of 2013, yet as I write on a cold December morning, I still have memories of the French Toast with blueberries - best...

A great place to stay! Beautifully restored Victorian mansion - our room was amazing - had a great sleep on a gigantic bed! The breakfast was delicious, served by our host Colin! Margaret, your recommendation of a restaurant was great - thanks! We would definitely stay again - and this time, Margaret, I would love to join you for a...

My husband & I have stayed at B & B's from Newfoundland, across Canada to Vancouver Island since 1990. We are lucky that we have never had a bad experience so far. Manor Rhodes B & B has definitely made it to the top of our list as to what a super B & B is. We had the pleasure...
