This is a wonderful flop motel. On your way up the Alaska highway you can stay the night for relatively cheap, still have some decent restaurants to dine at nearby and be back on the road. The motel is vintage and although clean everything definitely shows its age. You can tell in the bathrooms that most of the work has... More

First, the positives: park at the door convenience, very clean, reasonable price, plenty of hot water, free wi fi that works, and microwave. However, the office personnel are lethargic and not responsive to requests. When we woke up there was no power due to a scheduled power outage by the city power department but the office manager did not inform... More

Stayed here on trip up Alaska Hwy. Paid $89 w/o tax. This included wifi, fridge, microwave but no breakfast. Compare this with $70 at Peace Villa in Dawson Ck and Liard Lodge in Liard Hot Springs for $130. Room had window that could not open so very musty/stuffy. Supposed to be recently renovated but dont think our room was. Older... More

For the location, the price was great, $110 with a dog. The room was clean and had a fridge and a microwave. The showers were hot. It had been newly renovated, nothing fancy, but very comfortable and nice. It also had free wifi.

Pieced together wood floors that are very slippery when wet, loose coffee, sugar, etc. - who knows what else was added to them - dollar store amedities - not clean by any... More

At first we thought we got a good deal but after the first night sleep it wasnt very good. First the was a huge sign out front that said new renovated rooms. Well let me tell you the rooms were far from renovated. the bathroom ceiling was falling in and the stoves were so old you had to guess what... More

From the outside, the Shannon looks unpromising---my wife said "Let's bring anything valuable inside!" But it turned out to be surprisingly nice! PROS: • Big, comfy room---we got the King room, and it had not just a bed and table, but also a plush couch, armchair, big TV, fridge and microwave. • Very clean (though the smell of cleaning products... filthy, disgusting sheethole, oh did I say filthy ?, mould in the washroom, unknowns behind the beds....did I say sheethole ? Next time I'm in that area, the only stop will be the museum as it is very cool, and maybe a stop at the motel to get my money back, that disgusting stop put a sour note on an... More

Paid over $90 for one night. Room reeked of lysol, had 3 mattresses stacked on one another. Absolutely rank!! Had I not been so cold and tired would have nosed around the neighborhood. Place didn't look bad from out front, but once you go through the door, be prepared. All I could think of was bedbugs and examined myself and... More

I stayed at Shannon Motel for one night in October of last year. I have stayed at this motel before but I was very impressed when I visited there again. The entire hotel had a major renovation and I had a great night with very accomodating and friendly staff. (There was a new manager who was very kind and helpful... More
