Arrived at 6 am after a delayed flight from cayo coco and landing at pearson airport at 3 am tired and having to drive 7 hours north. Pulled up on this little gem and it was closed but called the number left on the door and was answered by a kind understanding man. Told him our dilemma we only needed the room several hours just to take the edge off enough that we could continue our drive home. Gave him 15 minutes and he was at the door checked us in timely manner and it was a very warm comfortable room. Nothing fancy but suited what we needed. We found our way to one of the super comfortable double beds and soon fell asleep. Even though was close to the highway didn't hear much noise in the room. We couldn't get the tv to work the satellite wasn't working, but it was in the midst of a bad winter storm and we didn't plan on watching much tv. It was more just to help us fall asleep. Waking at noon, we showered with the provided toiletries and lots of hot water and plenty of towels. There was a fridge, coffee maker and little table set up in one corner of the room. All we needed for the time we had the room. The restaurant that is on site was closed for the season, too bad as we woke hungry and ate elsewhere. Would totally recommend. Best part it was 80.00 with taxes.…
Worst Motel I've ever stayed in. Room stank of cigarette smoke. The bed had hairs in it ( not mine) the toilet seat was filthy, had to clean it before use, the toilet seat was loose and the flush broken. The sink didn't drain properly, dread to think why not! The towels were all stained. Was glad to get out of the place.
Thomas took care of ‘Big Tobacco and the Pickers’. Clean units with a very good breakfast. Very close to Gravenhurst. Good for when you are on a roadtrip. If hwy sounds bother you, bring ear plugs. Refrigerators in room. Bath tub with shower. Park your car right in front.
We are 2 senior ladies visiting Gravenhurst & Bala for the Cranberry Festival. We booked directly with the owner by phone weeks before. When we arrived nobody was there & the restaurant staff had to help us. The owner arrived & we were informed that we only had one day booked, no explanation! I think because he could make more money on the room because of the festival! We were treated rudely by his wife also. Now the room. VERY noisy because of Hwy 11 traffic. The beds were terrible probably 10 years old & creaky. Most of the décor in the room & bathroom was outdated. Water pressure terrible. Find another place to stay!
The rooms were recently renovated, with comfortable beds, brand new tv, clean bathroom, and excellent water pressure. The conndcted "Mr. Moose Restaurant " is great. Try the "big Moose Breakfast" which includes bacon, ham, sausage, three eggs, hash browns, toast, and coffee.
