We stayed two nights and longer would have been better if only to have more of Janet's wonderful scones. The comfortable living room is full of antiques and books on Lunenburg, seafaring, the saga of the Mary Celeste and so many more. You can walk to nearly everything and Janet can direct you to any thing that needs driving.

We stayed in the Solomon room three nights. It was large and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is tiny, HOWEVER, very beautiful and everything that you need is there. Janet is a former restaurant owner and is an excellent cook. The breakfasts are so substantial that we often ate lunch mid afternoon. Janet is a wonderful hostess and...

We loved staying with Janet in her historic B+B. We were able to stay in the Solomon Room with a lovely view of nearby church. The morning breakfasts are amazing - Janet is known for her ginger scones. They are unbelievably scrumptious!! The home is decorated in period furniture. Take Janet's recommendations for day trips and restaurants - they help...

From the outside, 1775 Solomon doesn't look like much, but the moment you step inside you realize why you shouldn't judge books by it's cover... or in this case, be tempted to stay in one of the many colourful houses that line the Lunenburg harbour. Janet and George have kept this old place in wonderful condition (there's a plaque outside...

If you love history and antiques, you will cherish this house because it is decorated to perfection with wonderful artwork and collectibles. Janet goes...

You almost forget you are not at home. Each time we returned from an activity, Janet had the kettle on for a cup of refreshing tea. We stayed 3 nights (for the second time) and enjoyed every minute - particularly breakfast time. Janet and George go out of their way to make you visit memorable.

An historic home in beautiful Lunenburg; staying here turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip to Nova Scotia. A warm and welcoming host with excellent suggestions of where to eat and what to see (complete with map). Guests have access to a period sitting room filled with books on local history and lore. Exquisite attention to...

With a tour guide talking to her group about the 1775 Solomon House, we walked into the home to be greeted by Janet and her husband George welcoming us to their home. Nearly 240 years old, the house oozes history with the many fireplaces, comfortable furniture, rememberences of yesteryear. The rooms were very clean. Janet gave us information about touring...

Janet and George the hosts at Solomon House made our trip to Nova Scotia simply wonderful. Janet was a wealth of information for Lunenburg and surrounding areas. She basically planned our trip, through recommendations. We were not disappointed. On a recent house hunting trip to Nova Scotia I stayed at the 1775 Solomon House Bed and Breakfast. What attracted me to it was the history and decor -- a nice change from the late Victorian excess that you see at so many B&Bs. The house was as beautiful as the photographs present -- warm, comfortable, and steeped in...
