In our 3 month trip, this the best B&B we stayed in.
This lovely historic house is located a few minutes walk away from the town centre in a quiet location and has onsite and street parking .
The tastefully decorated rooms are spacious and ours had a lovely view of the water with block out curtains. The beds are super comfortable and there are plenty of pillows to choose from.
The bath is small but water pressure good and plenty of room to store toiletries ( good quality soap, shampoo, conditioner all provided). There is also a small sitting area in our room.
Wifi was excellent and we had Roku box connected to the TV.
We even had robes and rain jackets provided for our use.
Breakfast was restaurant quality. All guests are seated at 8.30am to enjoy a 3 course breakfast which was different everyday.
The downstairs guest lounges are filled with antiques and are very comfortable to relax in while enjoying the home made scones, tea and coffee.
There is also a small gym and outdoor deck.
Attention to detail is amazing and this is truly an amazing place to stay.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Ashlea House as a quick getaway, and we are already planning our next stay. The B and B is charming and welcoming, as are the hosts and owners, Kim and Ed. They were so helpful with anything we asked, and had great suggestions on local attractions and restaurants (loved our supper at The Knot!). The common spaces are full of the things you would expect from a Victorian home, and were comfortable and inviting. Our room was immaculate, probably the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. I appreciated the little touches, like the wine glasses set up in our room, along with bottled water, as well as the black make up cloth and disposable make up wipes in the bathroom. The bed and bedding were terrific. My husband, usually an early riser, slept in both days, and raved about the bed. The breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented both mornings, and it was nice to hit up the coffee station for a scone and some coffee before breakfast was served. We also appreciated the owners attention to our food allergies. All in all, this is probably one of the best stays I have had anywhere and I look forward to coming back in the summer to see more of what Lunenburg has to offer, as well as have a glass of wine in that gazebo.

If we could, we would give this beautiful, historic B&B a 10!!! Our room was lovely and Han & Marianna have attended to every detail to make this the perfect place to stay while exploring the Lunenburg area. We dined on delicious gourmet breakfasts every morning and were provided with freshly baked scones to take with us on our daily adventures. The sitting rooms were lovely and peaceful and Han provided us with lots of advice on local attractions. Thanks, Han & Marianna, for a truly memorable experience!

My husband and I recently visited Ashlea House for one night as a last minute getaway to Lunenburg. From booking, to check out, our experience was top notch. We received an email confirmation with all information on the check in process, parking, access ability details and wifi information. Upon arrival, Kim gave us a tour and excellent dinner recommendations! Our room was a great size, a well appointed private 3 piece bathroom attached and a bed that was so comfortable, fitted with sheets that dreams are made of. We awoke, (reluctantly!) to a delicious 3 course breakfast (yes, 3) coffee, fresh juice and great convo with our housemates and Kim and Ed. The history of Ashlea House is neat and the knowledge Kim shared with us about the town, the area and things to do was impressive and so helpful to get the full Lunenburg experience. We are already trying to plan another trip and would recommend Ashlea House to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing stay. Thank you Kim and Ed for a memorable time!

We highly recommend Ashea House Bed & Breakfast. My husband and I recently stayed at this BnB for seven days in August to attend Folk Harbour Music Festival. Ed and Kim warmly greeted us upon our arrival. The keyless entry to house (as we were late arriving from the concerts) and to our room meant we did not have to worry about losing keys. Our room was spotless and linens were changed when needed and the room was air conditioned by a heat pump. Very quiet! There was a TV in our room, but we never had the time to use it! The breakfasts were delightful and since we were there for a week, we always had something new. Kim started off with yogurt and fresh fruit and homemade granola, followed by an egg dish with roasted potatoes and roasted tomatoes, and topped off by dessert! We had all seven desserts ranging from blueberry crumble, lemon cheesecake, apple strudel etc! Kim also had fresh cookies and muffins to take if you were out and about, or for a midnight snack. Ed had lovely music playing in the parlour in the mornings to greet us and even searched out acoustic folk music for us. Kim and Ed were the consummate hosts always giving suggestions on what to do or directions on how to get there and making reservations if needed. The house was beautifully decorated with watercolour paintings/prints. Truly a lovely experience that added to our memories of music by the sea!

This gorgeous house built in the 1800’s offers the luxury of a beautiful and comfy stay in the beautiful Bed and Breakfast!! It’s super clean and you won’t walk away from the table hungry after the three course breakfast!! The beds in the bedrooms are super comfy (I got two 90% sleep quality on my Apple Watch!) love having my own bathroom. Each room has its own Bathroom!! Super convenient!!
My favourite part of the whole place in the Widows Watch!! There was a storm when we were there so we turned off the lights and watched the lightening from up there. So beautiful the view is amazing! It’s worth the climb up the stairs!
Ed and Kim the host are so accommodating! My travel partner has a food allergy and there were able to accommodate her needs. They have a great knowledge of the area and places of interest.
Shopping m, restaurants and pubs are in walking distance!! Which is so convenient as the walk is beautiful along the water!
You will want to stay here for sure!

This is a beautiful, large old home within walking distance of the centre of old Lunenburg. Kim and Ed are wonderful hosts who pay a lot attention to small details and who work hard to make you feel at home. Breakfast is amazing.

We loved our stay at Ashlea House! My husband and I stayed there for two nights to celebrate our 1st anniversary. Kim & Ed were excellent hosts and very knowledgeable about the Lunenburg area. We stayed in the beautiful Mayflower Room and were treated to a delicious breakfast each morning. The personalized lock system allowed us to feel secure and comfortable coming back to the room at any time of day. We would most definitely stay at Ashlea House again. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Lunenburg!

Perfect host. Perfect home. Perfect stay.
We were so humbled at our stay in the Ashley house. From the fresh pressed bedsheets, 3 course breakfast, the humbling & knowledgeable suggestions for food & activities around the enchanting town of Lunenburg. Kim was personable & attentive to all the guest to make everyones experience in and out of her home, the optimal stay.
She went above and beyond in welcoming us into this beautiful historic home. It made Lunenburg much more enchanting to relax into, during our stay.
Thanks again!

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Ashlea House B&B in Lunenburg, NS. It was easy to find and located a 10 min. stroll from the Lunenburg docks/downtown. After negotiating a parking spot in the front circle drive we were greeted by graceful gardens and rock stairs that led you to the stunning 1869's Victorian home with attached gazebo. We were then cheerfully greeted by Kim who gave us a tour of the main floor, living and dining room, our second floor "Mayflower" room and the crows nest on the 3rd floor. It had an incredible 360 view of Lunenburg and the harbour. Our room was at the front with a peek a boo view of the harbour. The windows opened to allow in the fresh sea air. The large room had a comfortable queen bed with nightstands, lamps, alarm clock, sitting area by the fireplace with table, TV and cabinet for hanging clothing, housecoats and high ceiling with original moldings.
The bathroom was small (room for one) but had a nice shower with great water pressure. I loved the black washcloth labelled "makeup" and the make-up remover that they provided. Lots of towels and amenities were available. One of the highlights, other than the incredible architecture of the home with its graceful staircase and high ceilings were Kim's ever-present and delicious homemade cookies. There was tea and coffee available as well and a fridge where we could put drinks. Kim suggested the Knot Pub for dinner, which was a 2 min. walk and great! We missed our first breakfast due to the fact that we had to be at the Bluenose II by 0830, but Kim gave us our fruit and yogurt and saved our cream cheese cake "breakfast dessert" for us to enjoy later. Later after a day on the Bluenose II and shopping in Lunenburg, we settled into one of the 2 comfortable sitting rooms for tea and cookies and of course our breakfast dessert. Ed, Kim's husband came in and we visited for a while.
The second morning there were 8 guests at the grand dining room table which was impeccably set. They were from east and west, Toronto and Germany. Everyone enjoyed learning about each others travels. We had yogurt and fruit, fluffy pancakes, bacon and an apple blossom dessert, which my hubby said was delicious. Lots of juice, coffee and tea was available.
When it was time to leave, Kim and Ed, knowing we were dog lovers, introduced us to their gorgeous golden who wanted to play ball. They made us feel welcome and at home.
Our visit was short but sweet and we will definitely stay at Ashlea House again when we visit Lunenburg.
