First off the lady at check in, Jenny was super nice and friendly. It's a small thing but sometimes it makes a big difference. The room was clean and stocked with extra pillows and fans which was great. The room was very big so we didn't feel cramped at all. The hotel was dated which wasn't really a big deal except for the price. It was over $160 with no breakfast. The wifi worked really well so that was a plus. I would go back if I was stuck but not because the place was poor or anything the price was really steep.

We just got back from spending 11 days at this motel. From the moment we checked in til we checked out, the owners and staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. When we checked in the owner provided us with some of her favorite local beer and later sent Strawberries up to our room. There were 5 deer that roamed the property morning and evening. The room was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. I was a little nervous that the room wasn’t air conditioned but the reversible fan kept our room comfortable. At night we slept under a blanket. I can’t say enough about how comfortable the owner and staff made us feel.

We checked several of the downtown room online and decided the Wheelhouse offered the best rooms at the best prices. The trade-off is the walk to town. The walk isn't bad but we decided to drive to the end of the walkway in the park and then walked to downtown for a meal and for the views. BTW: the best Lunenburg views are from the side the Wheelhouse is on, across the harbor. It was nice walking in the park, with historical plaques along the way. Walking downtown is easy with plenty of restaurants to choose from. We ate at the Grand Banker. The room was clean and large. The grounds were great for sitting and relaxing. The front desk was great at offering help and advice. We recommend you consider staying at the Wheelhouse.

We didn't have anything reserved for the night when we decided to stop in Lunenburg. What a surprise! The Wheelhouse owners were very kind, the motel quiet and clean, and the grounds well kept. The owner told us a path to take to walk into town without having to ride the motorcycles in; she also gave us directions for a short walk to an area to get a great view of Lunenburg for photos.

Stayed at this location for 1 night. Was a nice size room on the second floor, very clean. There were 4 of us I request one of the rooms to be on the ground level as I had my mother with me and she has mobility issues, and there are no elevators, they were very accommodating. Each room had a mini fridge, micro wave and coffee maker. As stated before the lady at reception was very friendly and gave tips for great camera shots and a few points of interest. If I were going to say something negative it would be that if it were a hot summer day there is no air conditioning only window fans and after September if you are staying through the week this motel is directly located across the street from a school.

Sorry to say but we would not stay at this place again, the room was very outdated and had a smell to it. We had booked a queen room and ended up with a double. The only good thing about this hotel was that the parking was good and the walk to town was only a few minutes. Could hear the people above us talking and then snoring, the walls where brick but the ceilings were paper thin.

Nice and clean, the room had everything I needed. The lady at the reception is friendly and helpful; great location, just minutes to the golf area from which u can take a good picture of the opposite harbour; and just 5 min walk to the harbour itself. Well kept surrounding area

A lovely place to stay after a couple of rather dilapidated motels recently. The room is very clean, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. As other reviews have mentioned, the owner lady who greets you at reception is extremely friendly and helpful. It is ideally located near downtown within walking distance and easy to drive to other interesting areas nearby. Highly recommended
