Me and my friends spent quite a while in the Raging Elk Hostel in a Dorm Room and had an awesome time there! The hostel is perfectly located in Fernie. It's close to the main-street, many restaurants, parks, bottle shop ;-) and bus stop, also it's just a 5 minute walk to downtown. It is truly a backpacker hostel, which...

Spent 3 nights at the hostel, and wow what a great time ! First off everyone is so friendly here and happy to fill you in on all the happenings around town and events. I made my way to the bar the first night, and it has to be one of the most Canadian bars I've ever been in, totally...

Purely stayed here as it was a cheap option. As far as hostels go it's not the worst but the rooms are very small and cramped, and the kitchen is a little untidy. The communal hallway makes for a disrupted nights sleep as its almost impossible to walk quietly down the hall. It seemed to have good social aspects including...

Unfortunately our stay was very unpleasant and maybe that was our fault for not complaining. Check in was the highlight of our stay when we met a really lovely New Zealand girl working at the front desk. After we entered the hostel and our room we were utterly disappointed. The room, common areas and hallways are so run down, dirty...

I stayed in the hostel for a week during winter season in Fernie. It is a great place to meet people if you are new in town. There is a popular bar with cheap drinks and live music, the kitchen is clean and the downstairs area has a massive tv room with heaps of lounges, a games area with a...

Cheap and simple hostel with sparsely furnished rooms with only some possibilities for drying ski gear after skiing. Free american pancakes for breakfast that you can make by yourself. Free coffee at breakfast.

Cool bar area with cheap beer. Crappy run down rooms. Loud, dirty and so hot we had to sleep with the window and one eye open... Seems to be an ongoing problem they are yet to fix. Free breakfast is a joke. Only gave it a 2 because they sold Nelson beer.

We arrived quite late after travelling and to our dismay the pub was pumping quite loud. Any other night I would've loved this. Thankfully our room was far enough away we didn't hear the noise. Our room was small: a bunk with a double bed underneath. Outlets/powerpoints were very limited. The room was BOILING. The thermostat was broken. Breakfast, although...

We just stopped in for a few pints at the Kodiak Lounge, didn't stay over night but there but the lounge was great. It was open mic night for locals and visitors and the entertainment was awesome. The place got pretty hoppin' later on, apparently it was a date night kind of theme or something. It states the place closes...

Driving into Fernie it was raining and the weather was showing it wasn't going to stop for a whole week so when arriving at the Raging Elk I spoke to the front desk staff and said considering the weather would it be ok if we only stayed for two nights even though we booked for three. They were really good...
