We stayed in one of the motel rooms. The place was clean and even had a small kitchenette. Just outside of town on a hill nestled in the woods the place is very scenic. The only drawback is the walls are thin and unfortunately the idiots next to us decided to chat up a storm until midnight. Otherwise the place is fine.
We love this quiet family run treasure and always plan our travel through Wawa area to get in at least one night here. This time the cabins were all booked so we took a motel room. I was pleasantly surprised to find it had as many amenities and atmosphere as the cabins. For the price this is a VERY good choice! We even had live entertainment right outside our door when a hungry bear came to check out the barbeque area. The blueberry crop failed this year due to a late frost that hit the buds. The owners knew how to deal with the situation and kept everyone at a safe distance as the bear was encouraged to leave. The show ended at 11pm with a second showing the next morning behind the owners' residence. We cooked our breakfast in the equipped kitchenette and hit the road after a good sleep in a very comfy bed.…
On the highway entering Wawa is High Falls Motels and Cabins. While this place is not on a lake, nor does it have beautiful scenery surrounding it, the cabins are spotless, located near beaches and stores and very comfortable. The cabin is equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave and communal barbecues. The only complaint we have is that the hot water runs out very quickly in the shower. 3 of us could not all take proper showers back to back because the hot water ran out in less than 10 minutes.
Terrible experience while booking. I reserved and paid for a room but never got an email confirmation in spite of calling the hotel multiple times. I see my credit card bill a couple of weeks later and they have charged me $327! Spoke to the person on the phone and he refuses to accept responsibility. How can the hotel charge me when there is no confirmation email, no cancellation or no show policy? Unfortunately I'm not able to dispute the transaction with the bank also. Worst experience ever without staying at the place. Good luck if this is how you treat new customers.
...not just because of the long trip. But natural wood walls, crispy clean linen, snow white towels, tastefully arranged cabin with little kitchenette. The owners - very friendly and professional. We stayed for nine days discovering the dignified beauty of Lake Superior and had a good time at a campfire shelter on a rainy night. No one day was wasted.
We had a wonderful stay at the High Falls Cabins and Hotel. We stayed in one f the cabins. It was very comfortable and very clean. I would highly recommend staying there. Our cabin had a king size bed, a 50 inch tv, free internet. There was a fully stocked kitchenette.
Motel unit had a mini kitchen! Motel units and cabins set in a forested setting..perfect for stretching puppy’s legs after a long drive. Our motel unit was rustic and quirky but immaculately clean!! Just two minutes south of Wawa. Would definitely recommend this place. Nighttime was quiet..owners were very accommodating.
After a long coastal trip this motel was a total surprise we weren't expecting a room this nice great job at the details in the decor our room interior got the feel of a very small cabin with a modern touch
We stayed in Motel Room number 9 for two nights. We liked everything about this place, but there is NO WIFI, so we couldn’t check the weather or plan the next leg of our trip. We had cell service so we used our cell data to check email. What we liked: Really comfortable beds Good linens and fluffy towels Sparkling clean Easy check-in and friendly owners The host is on site and always accessible Great location outside Wawa and an easy drive to Lake Superior Provincial Park and Sandy Beach Good water pressure and plenty of hot water Nice big room with lots of room for putting things away Tiny kitchenette is adequate to make simple meals BBQ available for guests’ use What we didn’t like: Wifi signal was intermittent and not very strong Some noise from Trans Canada Highway with the windows open The power turns off when the lights are turned off, so electronic devices can’t be charged overnight (unless you leave the lights on all night…) …
Driving across Canada wee stopped at High Fall Cabins and Motel. What a great place! The room was very clean, fresh with updated decor and bedding. The beds were very comfortable. It was also great to have a table in the room as well. Perfect location, short drive to Sandy Beach for a nice walk on the beach after a long day of driving.
