This is a quaint old-school road motel. The room was a bit small but had everything we needed. We grabbed some muffins and coffee for breakfast before hitting the road. Staff was friendly. I can't characterize it as budget but instead mid-range as we did stop in motels in Northern Ontario with larger rooms and full breakfasts at around the same price range-but it's probably not fair to compare what's available in Wawa with a bigger place like Dryden.
While on a motorcycle trip with friends around Lake Superior, we stayed this small, modest motel. I presume it was the owner who checked us in. He was super friendly and we felt welcome right away. He alerted us to the complimentary fresh-baked muffins that were available each morning. They were delicious. The rooms are basic, may be a little outdated, but it was spotless and perfect for one night. If I were passing through town again I would stay here.
We booked this motel based on reviews. The staff were excellent. They helped with our iternet connection. The owner was at the front desk and couldn't do enough for us. They definitely would get a 5. The issues were with the room. The motel is very dated. I'm hoping they are in the process of updating rooms because they need a chance and maybe time to rebuild. Our bathroom was newly renoed. What a blessing but the bed was very ucomfortable and there were soft spots in the floor. On the good side, there was a fridge and a microwave. Location was easy to find.
Never again. Besides being dated smelly and overall grungy I specifically requested a non smoking room and it smelled like a nicotine factory. It was also noisy as the walls are like tissue paper sound wise. I would suggest staying anywhere else but here.
It's an older property and, like many in northern Ontario, a throwback to the days when you parked in front of your motel room. The room was very clean and comfortable, and within walking distance to a couple of restaurants, a convenience store and a beer store. Keep in mind that things close REALLY EARLY in Wawa so if you get in after 6 pm you will be out of luck for most restaurants and even the grocery store. Even Tim Horton's closed early because of lack of staff. The owner of this motel was helpful in directing us to places that were still open.
Travelling East after a visit in BC. Happened upon this clean, inexpensive hotel. This is a clean well kept hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. As advertised, fresh warm muffins and coffee in the morning. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.
It was awful. The front desk staff was nice but they couldn't make up for the dirty floors, hair on the pillows, fruit flies in the sink, rocks on the carpet, lack of shampoo and conditioner, no toilet paper, monstrously loud air conditioning unit, and the toxic smoke smell in the room. If that isn't enough to turn you away from this motel the back parking lot was practically inaccessible and there was massive construction across the street. They were extremely loud they started early in the morning waking us up and the paper thin walls did not help the situation. For an extra 27 dollars- go to the Hilton.
Had to leave motel after becoming ill due to toxic smell (cigarette smoke) in alleged non-smoking room #5. No way to reach mgt after 9-10 pm. No Covid precautions. Mgt refused to refund. Old, rundown.
Easy access off main highway in WAWA, groceries, Tim Horton’s , Subway very close by. Single level old style motel. Good wifi, tv, fridge and microwave. Beds good, staff friendly, free muffins and coffee in morning. Great for a stopover. Fills up so book early if u can.
Super cute retro motel. Very clean and well kept. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was spotless, each room has their own wifi. You park right in front of your room which makes it easy and safe to come and go especially with pets or luggage. $20 pet fee which is completely fair. Very sweet and nice owner. Would stay here again. The only negative thing would be how thin the walls are you if you're neighbors are loud you hear them.
