I stayed in the Patio Room for 2 weeks in November as I was visiting family in the area. Due to Covid it was safer for me to keep my distance from family for the first 2 weeks and I was thrilled to find this place so close to home. The room was so comfortable and homey feeling. It was more like a bachelor apartment suite than a room. It had everything that I needed for my 2 week stay and Karen the host was so welcoming that I felt comfortable to ask her for anything else that I may have needed. I felt 100% confident in the cleanliness and there was hand sanitizer provided and a note that said even the keys were wiped down! The bed and pillows were better than the ones I have at home lol! I had the best sleeps here and found the whole area very quiet. I also liked that I could control my own heat and could keep the temperature at exactly what I wanted. The location is perfect, besides the fact I was 3 minutes from my family, it was also a 2 minute walk down to the ocean, and a 15 minute walk or 5 minutes on the bike to the centre of town. So lucky that I found this beautiful place!

The host (Karen) is most gracious and attentive. We stayed in the Secret Garden room and found it to be all we needed for our Vancouver Island get-away. The room, although tight, had everything we needed. The location is within walking distance to the beach and not far from local restaurants.

Great stay at Karen's place. We stayed in the Upper Deck with its own Entrance. Because we stayed at Karens before, we knew that a Traditional Breakfast wasn't included in our stay. If we wanted to make coffee/tea, toast or grab a yogurt on iur way out the door, we could and it was available! But we chose to have Breakfast at Quality Foods (the locals call it QF) since breakfasts (open grill & cafeteria style, inside the QF grocery store) is only $5. Also had Breakfast at The Final Approach Airport. We had the Eggs Benny with wild smoked salmon, home fried potatoes, rye toast & great coffee, had a front seat watching the planes take off! Went to the Saturday Market in Arrington & enjoyed all that the Vendors had to offer from art, to duck eggs, soaps to bees hand lotions & cream to preserves, all while live music played on stage. Loved it All! Attended the Saturday Market in Qualicum Beach & sampled organic Wines & Elixirs from Hornby and Denby Islands. And tasted the craft made Rums and Gins. Picked up homemade breads and had the best cinnamon bun ever., Lots of walks to Judges Row Beach & picnic lunch at the Beach in Qualicum. The views of Mount Arrow Smith & Salish Sea were breathtaking. Enjoyed our ferry trip to Horseshoe Bay in Vancouver & back again to Departure Bay in Nanaimo. May is a great time of year to visit. Qualicum was so pretty with all the Dogwood and Cherry, Lilacs and Rhododendrons in bloom. Karen was quick to reply and answered all of our questions. We definitely will be returning!

Found through TA and sent to Booking.com to book. Sites are inconsistent with one another. This place is not by the beach and the views of the beach the not from here. The breakfast is very limited and not a healthy option. Cheapest food is what is given out. 2 pieces of bread in a ziplock is not a breakfast I’d want to eat. Room clean but again not fairly advertised to those finding it thru TA. Offered they AirBNB with no breakfast option at $60. Much more of an appropriate price for what’s on offer. Spoke with hostess and she acknowledged that she is getting out of the breakfast game. When she does she needs to change the name. I feel like the rate we paid was way too high for what we got. Basically the BED in the B&B. If u r after a place to rest your head so it thru AirBNB and save your money. Wish we had done that.

Tripadvisor is a third party website and review page which I have no control over. My neighbour is also listed as "beach front". Booking.com website is up to date and accurate. It is a short walk on paved roads to Judges Row Beach. I did not ignore your 13 text messages. The futon bed would have been already made up if you had requested it when booking. It was made up at suppertime, 3 hours after check-in time. Check the photos of our generous continental breakfasts on the booking.com website. Filters for the coffeemaker are stored beside the coffee. Price in US funds for a solo traveller in off season? airbnb collects payment and allows you to screen your guests.

I stayed in the room with the queen size bed, a single and I think there is another single that can come out. I stayed with a friend, Day 2 out of a Six-Day visit, and there's lots of room for us to have our own space even though it's one room. There's a little dining table, couch and TV, cabinet with microwave, toaster oven, dishes, and things you might forget to bring like salt and pepper, tea, coffee, breakfast cereal, you name it. She also offers breakfast I believe but we declined because we're going to be so busy and all we really want is toast in the morning! The owner is really nice and really attentive to our needs. She changes the towels daily even though we were okay if she didn't, she just wanted us to always have fresh towels. Very close to the ocean, and local health food stores, Grocers, boutiques, you name it. I would highly recommend staying here. I'm not used to the BC weather so it's a little damp (on the island, not the B&B!) but there's a great heater in the room. This is also a great Community to visit. I'll definitely be coming back for a holiday!
