We went there twice, one when the birds were there, we saw them feeding their youngs, we can observed them, and another time we were able to walk on the island, it was different. We are in the middle of St Lawrence River, it is very special.. we sleep in the lighthouse, it is so calm, the light is wonderful....

A most amazing experience and fabulous food! Our time there was even better because the other two couples spoke English for us:). Sleeping in a lighthouse on a bird sanctuary is hard to describe but it was all fabulous. We had rough weather - very chilly for July but that just made it exciting and the staff was very capable....

For any nature lover, this site is exceptional in its location and its nearly untouched natural surroundings. Birds of many species, whales, name it! And if this is not enough you get to experience living in a lighthouse built in 1861 with an astounding view point. But, if this is not enough, you get to eat five stars meals and...

What a paradise! This was a once in a lifetime experience, staying in a lighthouse on a small island with birds who created an ongoing symphony!!! Whether sitting on the deck of the lighthouse, or the deck of the belvedere, or walking the trails of the island, we saw a multitude of birds, as well as belugas further out in...

Staying here was an amazing experience. How often do you get to stay in a lighthouse? The boat ride from Riviere-du-loup was enjoyable, with wonderful views of the St-Lawrence. Once we arrived at the island, we had a guided tour of the nature trail. The island is in pristine condition. Not a single gum wrapper or other human detritus to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Many of the St. Lawrence lighthouses are more imposing, but few have more charm. Abandoned in 1964, 102 years after it was first commissioned, the Pot à l’Eau-de-vie lighthouse was restored by Duvetnor in 1989, turning it into a cozy inn with three attractive rooms furnished in the spirit of the 19th century. It is a classified federal heritage building. Stand watch at the gateway to the continent like the last lighthouse keepers, come spend a day at the lighthouse. Package includes Round-trip boat crossing from Rivière-du-Loup.Room in double or single occupancy.Guided cruise and tour.Diner inspired from regional cuisine. You will select your main dish upon reservation. The 2017 menu will be available later but you can look at a preview as a foretaste.BrunchSnack.Access to Pot du Phare trails once the birds have completed nesting in early July.Lighthouse tower available at all times. ... more   less
