A dated building but updated well. All staff was exceptionally pleasant. Room had a bad odour but I opened the window to air it out and after a bit it was fine. Pool and hot tub being opened and available was great. Descent breakfast.
It was somewhere to lay our heads for the night but I wouldn’t say much more than that. Upon checking in the main lobby is actually beautiful! The restaurant and arcade are nice too but the rooms aren’t great. Our “non smoking” room smelt like cigarette so bad, We almost had to sleep with the door open. The carpets seemed dirty and So was the a/c. Bed was comfy overall but the pillows were not. The shower was dirty and had lots of mildew in the corners but other than that seemed pretty clean. We left early so we didn’t get to check out the breakfast. Would not stay again and probably wouldn’t recommend.
We stayed for 4 nights. PROS: Great location and easy access to all amenities. Good complementary breakfast. Enjoyed the ground floor room with a sliding door overlooking a green space. CONS: Despite a sign in the room stating towels would be changed after 3 nights, they were not, We had to request fresh towels. No one came to empty the garbage in 4 days, despite three guests in our room. Had to request more toilet paper and tissues. Bathroom door hook came off. The room and property needs a lot of TLC.
This was to be yet another stay at this hotel. We had been there several times prior to this visit. Before the pandemic it was a decent place to stay at a decent price. After our experience last night....we will NEVER be back. Perhaps it is time for a name change. I am not sure the word QUALITY should be included in the name. At time of reservation I requested one of the rooms that we had stayed in before due to mobility issues. These rooms are easily accessible to enter hotel via room key...and also because of the patio door access, once room has been opened. This time we were booked into a room WAY around the back with access to the room around the building. (1st issue). When we were settling into room, I sat down on bed and was greeted by a hard object. The bed was made up in perfect order, but when I pulled back the covers the hard object revealed itself to be the room's smoke detector. Called front desk to inform them of this. They promptly came to inspect. We were told that it must have been accidentally in the bed. I ask, HOW....bed was made up and detector was tucked in a fold. Obviously had to be aware it was there in the making of bed. Next, a test of said detector proved it to be not working. Staff said they will take this unit and return with a new one. Sat and waited for 15 minutes and no return...BUT, in the meantime, my husband discovered stale pizza crusts under the A/C unit as well as a brochure (also in the bed where the smoke detector was found). He then started to pull back sheets on the 2nd bed and saw brown staining on the sides of the bottom sheet. Upon being brave enough to sniff the bedding, he said that it didn't smell like it had been washed any time recently. We used the ice bucket liner, picked up the pizza crusts, and the brochure and took them to the front desk to show them the filth that was in a room that was SUPPOSED to be CLEAN! At this point we informed them that we would NOT be staying here, were cancelling our upcoming reservation, and would like to be refunded. They offered us a move to another room, but no thanks. At the time of writing this review I am STILL awaiting the refund for the price of the room. This stay was to be part of my anniversary package of Orillia Opera House, dinner out and a stay at a hotel with a pool to have a swim.…
We arrived later in the evening and didn’t have a reservation. My wife and I were able to get a room with a king size bed. The price was around $250 for the night. Before I talk about the room, I must say the employees working at the front desk were great. Easy to deal with. Now for the room. Rm. 233. We unpacked and turned on the heater/air conditioner. It smelled like someone had taken a piss in it. If you zoom in on the pick you will see how dirty it is. The table / desk was coming apart. The unit that held the fridge was coming apart. This room at best would be worth less than $100. Per night. I complained and was able to get $100 off the price. I will not go back to this hotel. Not because of the staff but because of the condition of the room.
I used to stay here a lot because of the value it wasnt the greatest it wasn’t the cleanest… but now it’s tripled in price .. and the bathtub was so slimy I slipped and broke 2 of my toes and all I got was sorry for your luck… I will never step foot in that place again .. and Saturday’s is 4x the regular amount … 🤢🤢
Just wanted to take a few minutes to write a review of our experience this past weekend. Firstly the front desk staff, specifically Josh and Brad went out of their way to ensure our stay was a great one. Every interaction with these two they offered the highest level of customer service. Much better than some 5 star hotels I have stayed at. Secondly the server/bartender/waitress/games attendant and many other titles Michelle! I don't know exactly what her job title is but boy does she wear alot of hats. She provided exceptional service and was very kind to my son. She should run a course on how customer service should be!! Room was slightly dated but still very clean and we enjoyed it. On site facilities were awesome and my son enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra day. The breakfast daily was great and the food in the restaurant was priced decently and quality for value very good. This was our first time there but because of all the staff and everything else it most certainly won't be our last. A job well done everyone and our thanks to you all.…
Although i’ve lived in Canada all my life, I never tried ice fishing. Thanks to good friends, we traveled to Orillia and had a great day in a surprisingly warm and cozy fish hut. Afterwards we headed to Orillia Quality Inn and hoped there would be a restaurant nearby. We were beyond thrilled as we pulled up to see a restaurant and arcade with bowling and bumper cars!!! Orillia Quality Inn set up the perfect evening for all of us (i.e. 3 families with kids ranging from 6-18yrs). We ate (the funnel cake fries are a must try); played pool and video games; but by far the bumper cars were the highlight of the evening! Usually bumper cars kinda sucks because you all get stuck and it’s too hard to drive. The cars can move, the bumpers are big, and the time was long. So much fun!!! Although the hallways were cool, the rooms, water, and swimming pool were warm and comfortable. It actually felt good knowing the rooms and doors were well insulated, especially thinking about the environment. The staff were so friendly, hardworking and helpful. Even my kids noticed how hard the staff worked and the different roles they played! Thank you Orillia Quality Inn! Really was a Quality stay!…
We were recently at the Quality Inn in Orillia to celebrate my son's 11th birthday. We booked there because of the arcade, bumper cars advertised on the site, and when we booked there was no mention of not having access to these amenities. Imagine my son's disappointment when the restaurant and arcade amenities were closed for the duration of our stay. I feel we should have been notified and a discount applied since the major draw to the hotel was unavailable. The rest of the stay was great, room was immaculate, staff very friendly, and pool very nice. We hope to be able to come back and actually have the full experience another time.
This hotel is being used as a homeless shelter and is very secretive about it. No outdoor locks work therefore no security. Felt very, very unsafe. As a paying customer the hotel should advise their patrons! DO NOT STAY HERE!
