Our vacation to Belize was centered in Placencia, but we rented a car from Barefoot rentals in Placencia and took a side trip to Santa Elena to see the Maya temples in the area. We were totally awed by the hotel. After a long drive from Placencia we arrived at the Aguada at noon and after checking in decided to...

Only stayed here one night but went back 3 times for meals. Accommodation is fairly basic but room (only a little extra for de luxe) was enormous and had a/c and tv, relative rarities on our trip around Belize, also a nice pool. The grounds are attractive with a large pond, birds and countless iguanas, some of them huge. Often...

We stayed here 4 nights toward the end of February, and enjoyed our stay very much, The food served at their restaurant was very good. There are two sections of the hotel you can stay in - the separate building back by the aguada (pond) or the main building. We stayed back in the separate building. Typical of places many...

Had I written this review 4 days into our 6 day stay at the Aguada you would be reading a completely different review. We felt a huge sigh of relief when we checked into the hotel after our evening bus ride from Belize city. It was nice to be able to have a hot meal at the hotel after being...

I certainly apologize for the inconvenience that you experienced on New Year's Day. I can't apologize for the dusty roads that are surrounding the hotel these days. It has been a long time coming and we are finally getting a new improved roads and lighting in this area. Both Christmas and New Years Day are very important holidays for families...

My husband and I stayed here 10 years ago. Certainly not disappointed going back last week. The staff is WONDERFUL, the food is good, the accomodations comfortable, and the grounds beautiful. Yes... there are other fancier and more expensive places in San Ignacio, but why bother? The Aguado is perfect!!! Thanks, Armenia, Julie, Mercy, Howard, Bubba, and all. All of...

The hotel can be reached by a short drive over a usual bad Belize road from the Western Highway in Santa Helena, the sister town of San Ignacio. It is well maintained with ample parking, a nice yard, patio area, pond and swimming pool. Pool was not clear, was blamed on the rain but my own experience points to chemical...

We greatly appreciate your review, and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We did however have a pool specialist come in and check out the pool. You were right. it was a mixture of the chemical imbalance and the heavy rains. The pool is now crystal clear and we are in the process of converting to a salt...

We stayed 4 nights in a comfortable 1 bedroom unit with 2 queen beds. Beautiful Hotel with lush Landscaping and flowering shurbs and trees. Execellent staff and food was great! The pool was nice but it wasn't as clean as it should have been. They cleaned it on our 2 day but still wasn't very clear. Other than that it...

We booked three nights here as recommended on lonely planet forum. First of all the hotel is so far away from everything!!! I regret to hear about your negative experience while staying with us. I would just like to clarify that the error with your reservation was due to the fact that you were upgraded from the economical room that you originally booked. It was never noted, so we apologize for that. We were experiencing a serious chemical imbalance in the pool,...
