As a solo business traveler all I look for apart from location is a clean, comfortable hotel. The Oaksmere went way beyond that. The welcome was very friendly and professional and after a 400 mile trip it was just what I needed. The room was very well equipped and well decorated. I opted for room service which was quick and...

Fantastic lunch! Had not booked in advance, didn't matter, despite the restaurant and the bar being busy the staff couldn't do enough for us to ensure we got a table. Superb roast, could not recommend highly enough. Service was superb. A must visit...

Drove down from Manchester for a friend's 60th. Wonderful approach to the hotel. Our enjoyment did not end there. Warm reception. Asked if we would like to swap rooms if a shower not to our liking. No problem. Beer in the bar. Lovely bedroom. Décor is beautiful throughout. Our friend's party was in a cosy private room. Great evening. Breakfast...

I arrived and was shown to a gorgeous room with all high tech gadgets. Enjoyed a jacuzzi bath and later wandered into the relaxed bar. Had fantastic dinner and slept wonderfully in comfortable king bed. Had buffet breakfast although cooked breakfast looked amazing. Was very reasonable and will go again soon.

Fantastic hotel with tastefully decorated high tech rooms. Breakfast was excellent with a variety of buffet foods to choose from in addition to a cooked breakfast. Dinner was not so good however. Limited vegetarian options and my choice was not cooked well. Saute potatoes were hard and cold and the tart had too much red onion which was badly prepared....

Hotel, room, bar, food, staff all great....but....there were problems with the heating and hot water during the stay. Luke warm Jacuzzi bath in the evening and no hot water next Morning spoilt the experience but staff were apologetic.

We stayed here for two nights for our fifth wedding anniversary and upon check in was immediately upgraded to the lovely Kerrison Suite. The room was beautiful with a spa bath in the main room as well as a waterfall shower in the en suite. There was also full Sky tv with access to all channels. The atmosphere was friendly...

I will start with the positives: spa bath food was amazing but service a little slow decor large and comfortable bed huge rainfall shower Unfortunately I don't think this hotel knows whether it wants to be a rowdy pub or a romantic country retreat. I feel that it cannot and did not achieve the latter on our recent trip for...
