We live in town but treated ourselves to a stay at the hotel along with some body pampering at the spa followed by culinary pleasures at the adjoining restaurant which we often visit with and without a stop at the spa. So this is a three point review of excellence. One The rooms are superior and extremely well kept. All...

We had an unexpected overnight stay needed in Courtenay between Christmas and New Year's and have watched the Old House develop and just wondered what it was like. We found a decent deal on their website and we were set. We tried to check in early but they were just coming off the Christmas rush. They tried their best to...

Overnighted here for work and had a great great stay! The place is beautiful, cozy and clean. The rockwork on outside of hotel combined with fireplaces in the room made such a great ambiance. The bathrooms are spacious and have soaker tub or great shower Really recommend for short or long stay... Close to ammentites and nice area The spa...

Since my last review, the Old House has deteriorated in ambience, decor and service to the point I can no longer recommend it. The hotel now caters to large groups of teenagers on school trips and gives them preferential treatment over mature customers seeking a restful spa experience, who actually pay a premium price, over the children's groups. The hotel...

I've stayed here a few times. The beds are so comfortable and the sheets just caress you....the electric fireplace makes for a cozy room. The kitchenette has a small fridge, microwave, coffee/tea- so you can easily have a picnic - and popcorn for movies! The rooms are larger than average. The pool is magical- I went for a swim late at...

I booked a suite which was lovely. Spacious and done nicely. Bed was comfy. Nice big tub / shower combination. Was very clean. It overlooked the river which was nice and had a gas fireplace and a balcony although too cold to go outside. We didn't use the pool or anything else but I heard it is quite nice. There...

The hotel is in two separate buildings. We stayed in the second, so getting to the pool and front desk required a two minute brisk walk. There's a walking trail right in front of the hotel, which leads to downtown Courtenay. Fireplace, full kitchen, and pull out couch were all in room. Parking was an issue. The lot wasn't big...

Loved this hotel. It is quiet and had clean, comfortable rooms. Layouts are roomy and give the feel of home. It's very cozy here and we would definitely stay again if in the area. And with Locals restaurant out the back door you are able to have an amazing dinner and glass of wine without having to drive anywhere.

The hotel, room, amenities and restaurant were all top shelf. Had a wonderful visit. The 'spa' came in very handy. We enjoyed the fact that the hotel was within walking distance to some shops and was easy to find.

Our stay here was great! We stayed one night and had a spa treatment. The front desk staff were very friendly, quick and informative. They made us feel very welcome, offering coffee/tea and cookies as we checked in. The room was beautiful! We had a view of the canal and were entertained by the seals in the mourning. The Front...
