Campground was great, nice site. Extremely load boaters with music blaring very late at night, 1am! Fix the nasty flea problem and will go back. Sorry that the fire ban was on, I realize this is not their problem. Close proximity to caves if a bonus. The trails were good.

We kayaked on Horne Lake this month. The lake was calm and refreshing with very little motor boat activity. They do rent kayaks and paddle boards but we had our own kayaks. A peaceful kayak to an island we climbed up to and had a scenic picnic on top. We would definitely do this again when visiting the area.

This is a beautiful place to camp. Have been here several times, however, it may be the last. This year my husband and I got swimmers itch. I took all precautions, towel drying, wearing sunscreen, and changing bathing suits every time I was in the water. I got swimmers itch but my husband got it really bad the last day...

How can we be 'Happy Campers' under the rain? We learned that art at the site 51. We learned it so well that instead of spending one night at Horne Lake we stayed much longer. My husband would not mind to stay 2 weeks but new adventures were calling me... The sun came and we decided to put our inflatable...

We knew what to expect as family had described the location (favourably) we wanted to try out our new VW van so this was a reasonable location. We had heard of the "itch" so didn't drink or go into the lake. The campground was empty, as one would expect at this time of year, so we got to pick any...

My boyfriend and I stayed in site 43. Super secluded, sunny, and full of trees. Its a lakefront we had a private swimming area. Water was extremely clear and warm! The view is so beautiful ! Great for privacy. This is the campsite I've been searching for my whole life! Going again this weekend!

We arrived to site 57s on Fri evening. The coastal fire ban was lifted the previous day at noon. But this campgroung is not provincial, they are the Nanaimo Reginal District. So they were still enforcing a fire ban. And a smoking ban. I'm not a smoker but I've never seen a cigarette ban before. That night around 11pm a camp...

I read some pretty questionable reviews here, but I have to say that I disagree. First of all the campground staff were very polite and helpful. We went during a fire ban and they only ever bothered us to check our propane campfire, which is their job. They were friendly with my dogs and never once hassled us. The campground...
