We booked this Motel for its price. Feel very deceived by the pictures on the website which show large rooms. I can honestly say our room was not as big as I expected from the photos. The room had a musty smell however after awhile...More
Booked on Booking.com as affordable for Nelson. Located just before bridge into town which was fine for us. Room was large but layout was strange. Only sink was outside bathroom. Good air conditioning. Had fridge but no microwave in room, if u needed had to...More
An older motel that has been nicely updated. Very comfortable bed! Very reasonable priced especially when compared to local hotels that want 3 to 4 times the price. The onsite Amandas restaurant is a Nelson landmark and has the best Chinese food in town. A...More
We arrived here for two nights, after my grandfather believed he had arranged to pay for the room. When I went to check in the Front Desk staff member requested my card, which I gave for incidentals. When I mentioned it should already be paid...More
We'd come a long way and didn't plan our time well. Dinner in Castlegar and driving in the dark. I looked at our booking and it said check in by 9pm! So I called ahead and said we'd be late and they said no problem,...More

I didn't know Trip Advisor had this feature. Sorry for the extreme delay in providing an answer to your question. For the moment, our Online Travel Agents (Expedia, Hotels, Booking, etc) show us as a "no meal included". However, we offer a complimentary continental that is from 8am-10am in our small lobby that serves waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, coffee, tea, and juice.
In 2018, we will launch our first restaurant on-site that will feature a hot breakfast.

Great question. One that not all businesses explain why they do or don't accept cats. We accepted cats until an incident 4 years ago. One of our guests brought in a cat and assured us she had a litter box and litter. Her room was set to do not disturb for 10 nights. Due to other reasons we had to enter the room. Let's just say we got the shock of our life. Unfortunately there was a hefty price to be paid to rectify this issue and loss of sales. Not sure if it was due to the length of stay but we had to gut the room and bleach it. Even then the stench wouldn't go away. We bleached the bones of the room 4 times a day for two weeks. Then rebuild the room from the bones.
Cats are very clean animals and it is often the owner at fault. Dogs need to be walked publicly multiple times daily. Cats remain in the room. This added layer of obscurity is the reason.
Dogs do make little accidents but these have always been easy to fix. As an accommodation we need to be able to fix any types of problem within a day as we need to resell a room.
I hope that answers your question. Bottom line is that accepting cats is too much of a risk considering how badly we were affected. The memory of that incident is almost traumatizing.

"although the price includes continental breakfast, it really was not very good quality food."
