I was there with my family for the dance competitions. Hard to find a reasonable priced restaurant after 9 and the price for the room seemed high. The view was a picture on a brick wall. I wish I had some sort of view. Nelson...More

We arrived at lunchtime, and our room was ready so we were able to check in straightaway - many thanks to the friendly and helpful young lady at the front desk who made us feel so welcome, giving a great first impression. Unfortunately I can't...More

Our family just spent 2 days in Nelson at the Best Western, every member of the staff were pleasant, polite and full of local information. If you have a question just ask! Fresh coffee, water and fruit were readily available in the lobby. Our room...More
Clean - that's the operative word for the suites and the hotel in general. Housekeeping is great. The front end staff are the best we have met and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable especially Chariza. What a smile. (hope...More
There are pros and cons to this hotel. The pros include great location on Baker Street (walking distance to shops, restaurants etc), friendly staff, ample parking, super clean rooms and really comfy beds. The restaurant attached was closed and so we were given breakfast vouchers...More

I came from out of town to Nelson, my girlfriend was also coming from out of town , we decided to meet at the Best Western in Nelson to have a late lunch , early dinner, i parked across the street from hotel , Parking lot sign says "customer Parking"made a quick stop and proceeded to walk to restaurant to meet my friend , as i was walking to the bottom street cross walk, there was something attached to the wheel well on my truck, in a panic i went to see what it could be, considering i drive a brand new truck, they put a lock on the tire, so i went over to meet my g/f who had not arrived yet,i called the RCMP, , who thought they were also being unreasonable, needless to say, i had to pay the 50 $ , for the release of my truck, and they wanted me to still have lunch there, are you kidding me, they were extremely rude. Manager Ryan Martin and Attendant Cane, i am a mature 50ish , working in Health Care system, just wanting to have lunch w/ a dear friend that i hadnt seen for awhile. UPDATE, as i am writing this the Manager has called me to tell me his problem that he does not make enough money w/ Best Western, so he was not there to deal w/ situation , because he was working at the Hotel Hume down the street, wow. He is not prepared to deal with me, he called because he realized that i made a complaint to the head office, which i will now call back. These kids need more training in customer service, and professionlism, to attack someones credibility and make them look bad, to make yourself look better, is not good business, i am sharing this , because i am a very unhappy customer, and membership holder. Social Media can be the judge , and small town i will tell anyone that listens.

It just has a restaurant called the Baker Street Grill. It does have a sectioned off bar area which is more lounge like but it is essentially just part of the restaurant. If you are looking for a nice lounge, you can't beat the Library Lounge in the Hume Hotel.
