terrible experience. rude customer service. would literally not accept my confirmation number i had in my email which was unbelievable to me. handled inappropriately, without manner. would genuinely never book again.
On arrival there was no staff at the desk we had to go next door to the liquor store to get someone. The women who greeted us wasn’t overly friendly. The room is dated and small but reasonable for the price we paid. The room had most of the facilities listed. The hotel advertised AC and a ‘flat screen TV’ which it had neither. There was a very small tv on top of the fridge and a fan as ‘AC’. Although there was some nice condiments and wifi included. The room maybe needed an update however it wasn't terrible just small but important improvements needed.
Quick checked in. Informative frontdesk and helpful to all my concern. Room is cozy and warm that makenyou feel comfortable. Great view that is more relaxing. Many options for establishments like restaurants and the train to down town is just 10 minutes away from the hotel. All in all is a good place to stay. Great value.
The owner was very accommodating to us. We had made reservations at other hotel in Squamish 6 months in advance, however when we arrived at the other place we were told that the king room which we had reserved was not ready and we were offered a room with 2 queen beds which we were told was ready. When we got to the room it was no where near ready. The beds weren’t even made. Then we were told they didn’t have any rooms ready. So we cancelled and called the Squamish Hotel. The owner went out of his way to make sure that we had a room for 2 nights. It’s an older hotel but the room we had was clean and comfortable. Thank you so much for the wonderful service. I will recommend you to anyone who is looking to stay in Squamish.
This hotel is well located in downtown. The staff was nice. The room was small but nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable. It was a nice stay. Lovely view from the hotel room. The only issue is that it was a bit noisy because of the restaurant.
I've stayed at this hotel quite a bit over the past 3 years. 2-3 years ago the rooms were always clean and well maintained. While the building is old with its quirks ("character"), the hotel had done a good job at keeping things up. There were new mattresses, and recent decor upgrades. Each room had everything a traveller really needs - a microwave, fridge, shower or bathtub, small TV, WiFi, and most importantly: A really comfortable bed. It also had a self-serve laundry room with a working washing machine and dryer. There were little details too - such as an assortment of DVDs out in the hall for the in-room DVD players. It felt like someone actually cared about the place. Perhaps a "Budget Boutique" hotel. The location also could not be beat, especially for the price - right in Downtown Squamish and within walking distance to anything one might need. Unfortunately things have changed for the worse here. In both my visits this year (Feb and Aug) the hotel seems to have developed a more run down, unmaintained and unclean feeling. In my room this most recent visit I noticed that the toilet had not been cleaned - there was still very obvious "splatter" in the bowl from the previous guest. The bathtub curtain rod had a used washcloth hanging from it; and the floor felt "sticky". The woman who checked me in seemed stressed out and detached. The collection of DVDs in the hallway was in disarray, and the laundry machine wasn't working properly. The room had an odour. I had a similar experience last February where I noticed cleanliness issues, but thought it was just a fluke given the past good experiences at this hotel. It seems the bed sheets and towels were still at least clean. My hunch is that somewhere between the first two years, and this past February there has been a management or ownership change. In any case, whoever is running the show now clearly does not or no longer cares for the overall upkeep and image of this hotel and that's unfortunate. While I used to see the same staff members each stay, it now seems there's a new set of faces every stay. This is another sign there's a management issue - in the first 2 years I was staying at this hotel I'd see the same staff members every visit. The cleanliness issues really drove up my anxiety around COVID-19 risk; and I won't be taking the chance on this hotel again until the pandemic is in the history books.…
You know that hotel in the center of every city that's a bit neat up, has a liquor store attached - and is just generally dodgy? You know, the one you wonder, "who stays there?" Yeah well, that's the Hotel Squamish. The Hotel Squamish is from another time. It's been a warm summer, thus far. However, there is no A/C in the common areas, and there certainly is no A/C in the guest rooms. My room was oppressively stuffy. Oddly, there is an upscale restaurant, attached: The Salted Vine Kitchen & Bar. It seemed busy. - It was clean(ish). - The TV was essentially a small computer monitor. - There was a small fan, which sort of provided some relief. - The towels seemed new and fluffy. - With some hefty renovations, it could become a cool, boutique, hip and happening hotel. There's not much I else can say. I want to be fair... The takeaway is... consider other hotel options. …
My husband and I stayed in Squamish for two nights from March 11-13, 2020, as we wanted to be within an hours driving distance to Whistler Village. The hotel was quaint and the staff who greeted us was really friendly. This was an inexpensive hotel and we had the room above the restaurant #102 and as such, there were no elevators to the second floor suites, which made it a challenge to carry luggage up the winding stairs. In addition, we requested a hair dryer upon our arrival, but didn’t get one until we requested it again the next evening. The walls are thin and we didn’t enjoy our stay as both evenings, we could hear the other patrons coughing and/or talking loudly in the late hours of the second night. My husband even banged on walls in hopes that they would get the hint, but they didn’t. We didn’t hear anything from the restaurant, it was the People next door who were obnoxious. Would we stay at this hotel again? Hmm, the room was reasonably clean, it had free parking, the staff friendly, and the walls too thin; however, it was easy to find and as noted, staff very friendly and accommodating. If you’re not fussy with noise, then this is the place, but request the hair dryer before you get there as they’d have to locate one from one of the rooms for you.…
The only crash you will be doing is your head into the bass speakers of the dance club below this place. Oh, and did I mention that where there is not a dance club, there is a bar. Seriously, this building is too old to be a dance club and hotel... The renovations are alright, but a new paint job does not fix paper thin walls. Management is unresponsive. Reader, I'm really sorry about this, but it is a wast of your $120+
The hotel has very few parking places and you can't park on the street. The heating in the room did not work and the t.v. as well. it was not what I expected. there are a wine shop and a bar just under the hotel.
