Visited hotel with husband and 1.5 yr old. Room was fine - clean, tidy and quiet, but did not provide a crib. Bed was incredibly soft - both my husband and I woke up with sore backs the following days. Hotel provided complimentary coffee which was great. Pool was too cold for toddler to comfortably swim in - he lasted 2min. Hot tub was out of service. Went for a meal at the restaurant for breakfast; not a picky eater but by far the worst meal I have ever had. The eggs barely edible, waffle fries were very oily and looked like they had been cooked the night before and bacon looked fear factor - did not eat it. Given that we spent just over 200$ per night, it was definitely a disappointment. I doubt I would ever stay here again.
I was on a vacation with my wife in September of 2022. We decided to stay 10 days in Vancouver and had pre-booked the hotel ahead of the arrival. I even had paid for it before arriving in Vancouver. When I arrived I contacted the hotel to see if there is any shuttle service to take me to the hotel, Holiday Inn, North Vancouver. I was greeted by an obnoxious man by the name of Aneez. Not only he told me that I don't have any reservations, he had also mentioned that the entire hotel is booked and that they have no rooms available. Remember, I was on a 5 hour flight, restless, and now no reservations despite that fact that IHG had already securely my room and taken the payment out. I told Mr. Aneez on the phone that I have no other reservations and that I will be calling IHG to complain since I was a IHG remember. Mr. Aneez said that he doesn't care what I had to do and that there are no rooms available. Once I called IHG, they had promised that the room should be available to me and that I should make my way to the hotel and demand that my room be restored. Once I made my way to the hotel and again was confronted by the obnoxious Aneez at front desk just to hear the same story that there are no rooms available. This obnoxious man did not make effort to accompany me and just asked me to call around to other Holiday Inns in the area. While I was doing that and was completely upset, I saw that Aneez treats other guests in the hotel in the same manner, very obnoxious and with an attitude. This man, "Aneez" should not be in the hospitality business altogether. Throughout my encounter with him at the front desk he kept telling me that "today is not his day". My question is when you are in the hospitality business, you can not treat people and guests with an attitude and if today is not your day, you should not be at work altogether. I am very disappointed with the experience I had at Holiday Inn, North Vancouver. Stay AWAY from this hotel as long as ANEEZ is there.…
Stayed here for three nights and then another night the week after. Easy check in, room was clean and ready for us. We asked the front desk for multiple odds and ends and they had no issues with helping us. It is right off the highway so it is easy to get to the Vancouver side, to Horseshoe Bay/Whistler, or east towards Abbotsford. The rooms were quiet even being close to the highway. Free parking as well. There are a couple of restaurants on the same site so that is convenient for many people. Would stay here again when in the Vancouver area.
Don’t let the brand name discourage you. This brand is usually associated with economy. This property adds quite a bit of elegance to the brand. It’s really beautiful! This is a hotel that is not only affordable, but really enjoyable as a spot to “hang out”. The generous lobby and associated cafe are great amenities. It was difficult to choose between the side closest to the busy street or the adjacent hillside. This is one of the rare structures that allow you to open the window. That one little feature brings the lovely day indoors. The street side does give you a lovely view, but the fountain outside and the manufactured waterfall are lovely sleep aides. We were quite pleased with our hillside selection, even though we didn’t get the expansive view. Stay here, but let’s keep this little gem as our little secret.…
This Holiday Inn was much better than I anticipated with a warm welcoming staff and a resort type feel. It’s easy to get to but when entering the driveway you are immediately surrounded by trees and even a waterfall at the front entrance. The desk agent was outstanding and worked to get our two rooms very close to each other. When asked about places nearby for dinner, she took the time to explain there was an area called Lonsdale Quay which is about a 10 minute drive down by the water. We ate at an amazing restaurant there called Joey’s Shipyard! The hotel facility itself is in good shape with on-site restaurant and bar. We would certainly stay here again without question.
Staying for 3 nights. Staff lovely, room fantastic and location perfect, just on the edge of wonderful hiking areas as well as downtown Vancouver. Bar, restaurant, liquor store and general store on or next to the site. Great hotel. Would 100% recommend.
This hotel is a good option for those looking for accomodation that's a bit more reasonably priced than what's available in Vancouver proper, at the expense of needing a car to get around. The hotel itself was comfortable and clean with ample parking. It would have been nice to have breakfast included for the crazy price we paid (despite being a bit further afield), but unfortunately that was pretty common on our trip. The adjoining restaurant, "Medley's", was very average. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
This hotel is very pretty , rooms were nice and staff was friendly. I only gave it a average rating because it’s right next to a major highway , very hard to get too and there is nothing nearby that’s walkable. We had to pay for transportation everywhere we went! It’s definitely a more suburban area and not nearly as pretty as their photos are.
We are from the Sunshine Coast of BC and unfortunately we only ever stay here when we have some kind of medical issue. We love it! Just got home from our latest visit. The hotel is so clean. We always get an accessible room and it's always awesome. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the availability to the bus to the hospital works perfectly.
This hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. However, it is an extremely tired property in dire need of updating. The pullout couch in our room was frayed and sagging. The television was old and had a terrible picture that was not even in HD. The lobby and all other central areas looked like they were last updated in the 90’s. Regardless, we had a quiet, pleasant stay, but would likely seek a more modern property if we were in this area again.
