Just stayed 3 nights at this lovely country establishment and had the best time ever! Staff are very welcoming and obliging. Food is fantastic with a wide choice menu to suit all. Bedrooms very clean and comfortable with tea making facilities and comfy beds with nice furnishings. Whilst we were there they had the unfortunate timing of two power cuts...

Stayed here for one night whilst spending time with friends in The Lakes. Really handy with easy access to areas such as Keswick and close to M6 too. Lovely old pub with log fires, great beer and very good value for money high quality food. Specialising in a variety of pies these were delicious and ideal after a days walking....

We arrived last night late and really appreciated the kitchen staying open late to cook us a meal. Welcoming bar staff, good food, beer and a nice bar atmosphere. All really good actually until we checked into our room. It was cramped and tired and the walls were paper thin. We were woken in the middle of the night by...

We recently visited the Queens Head Inn for a quiet evening meal having spent a bit too much elsewhere in the lakes over a long weekend. We figured a pub meal would be nice, nothing amazing but a bit lighter on the wallet. We were right on the price side of things but the standard of the food surpassed our...

A friend and I were looking for somewhere to stay within striking distance of Appleby for a trip on the recent steam specials over the Settle and Carlisle railway yet near enough to the Lake District to give easy access to the fells for a walk the following day. The Queen's Head at Tirril ticked both boxes and was a...

I was delayed ... again on the way home. Booked late here Never sure re hotels unknown to me. Nice place...! Old place... pub with restaurant. The room is small, but clean and nice... no problem. Selection of good beers. Local people eat here, no music just the chitter chatter of talk. I feel relaxed.... :-) Wi fi only in...

There were 37 of us booked in for Sunday Lunch. Everything had been nicely laid, but when the organiser wanted changes with coloured napkins the staff could not have been more helpful as they were with the need for table for raffle prizes. Indeed throughout the time there the staff were always charming and helpful. The food was delivered quickly...

We stopped off overnight on our way from Aberdeen to Bristol in December. We chose this inn as it was close to the M6 motorway and it allowed dogs. We were very pleasantly surprised, so much so, that we stopped in for tea on the way home ten days later. The inn is a very old-worldy place with oak beams...

I could give chapter and verse, I'll just say that I was booked in for three nights but left after only one! I was of course charged for the three nights regardless. My experience started badly when on arrival I was ignored by the two barmaids, who were doing nothing, for a full 5 minutes before someone else arrived to...
