After three years of not seeing my son who lives in Auckland due to the pandemic, I was finally able to fly from the USA to NZ and I'm so grateful I found this B&B. Joy and Howard are the greatest of hosts and the location was right across from the ferry to Auckland's central district. The main street is also just a short walk with shops and many restaurants. I had everything I needed and then some! The complimentary walking tour given by Joy and Howard was a special addition. I would definitely book this again!

The other reviews tell it as it is. Personal attention, nice room and one of the best breakfasts we have ever had. With downtown Auckland being dug-up staying in Devonport makes a great deal of sense particularly at a great place like this.

Fabulous, small, privately owned, eco- conscious B&B. Owners Joy and Howard offer the best personal service with attention to every detail. The perfect location is right across from the water. We felt totally safe walking around at night. You don’t need a car or taxi here which saved lots of $$. Everything you could want is a short walk- the waterfront, beach, groceries, restaurants, ferry, bus, liquor store, shopping district, hiking trails and museums. Walk across the street to grab the ferry to Auckland, other islands or hiking excursions. We arrived at 8 am after an overnight flight. Our hosts, Joy and Howard, happily welcomed us with great coffee and set us up despite the early arrival time. After other guests left, we were upgraded to the Waterfront Suite. There was a wonderful view, cool breeze, nicely ironed linens, comfy king bed, lots of pillow choices, bar frig, microwave, French press, coffee/tea and milk, a modern bathroom, free laundry service, fresh flower daily, chocolates on my pillow and the most amazing and knowledgeable hosts. What more could anyone ask for? The breakfast was plentiful, tasty and timed to meet our daily plans. We had 10 great days here in a quiet and peaceful environment. The best part of all is Joy herself. She is an amazing woman with vast historical, plant and local knowledge. Howard is an avid golfer, sports follower and military historian . Our experience was great.

There is no way we could explain just how wonderful our first two nights in New Zealand at Admirals Landing was. First the location is perfect- 100 yards from the ferry to Auckland, and the view of the city is spectacular. Devonport is even more charming than what everyone says and frankly an oasis from activity of the large cruise ships that were anchored in downtown Auckland. Joy and Howard are everything you hope you run across when booking at a B & B. Joy is a walking encyclopedia on New Zealand and her love of country is endearing. She took us for a tour of Devonport! Breakfast is wonderful and Howard joins in to add whatever Joy may have left out. They are helpful with recommendations and arranging things. Due to a misunderstanding on our part with the ferry schedule on a holiday we could have missed a 7am connection in Auckland- well Howard drove us to where we needed to be! It was 6:30 am!!! The room we were in was great . Everything you need is there. The bed is comfortable, the linens ironed and perfect, WiFi easily available, view of Auckland incredible, deck for breakfast charming. There are two rooms and you can share breakfast with the other guests or eat privately. Joy makes it comfortable either way you chose. We are here for two weeks and this introduction to NZ was more than anything one could hope for. Thank you Joy and Howard.

After living with 2500 guests on a cruise, Admirals Landing was the perfect place to rest and rejuvenate ourselves. The harberview suite was bright with a spacious bathroom and lovely patio. Joy and Howard are eager hosts and have excellent recommendations for restaurants, things to see, gifts, etc.

We have been travelling around New Zealand for 6 weeks and this was to be our last stop before the airport. We didn't want to stay in Auckland so opted for Devonport instead. We are so glad we did, it is so convenient for getting across on the ferry to Auckland for the day. The hosts at Admiral's Landing were wonderful, full of local knowledge and information and really put themselves to make our stay a good one. They upgraded us to the larger room as no-one else was staying. Our breakfast, which was lovely, was served out on the balcony, and the view from the bedroom (Waterfront) was across to Auckland, so right on the front of the harbour. The bathroom was very spacious and modern too. They went above and beyond when they noticed, while we were out, that our front tyre was flat, so they managed to get that all sorted out before we even knew about it! That would have made an interesting trip to the airport! I would definitely recommend staying here either at the beginning or the end of your New Zealand trip as it is so comfortable and convenient for the airport.

Howard & Joy are fantastic hosts, full of local knowledge & nothing too much trouble. They put on an awesome breakfast (best to do out in the garden). The room we stayed in was excellent, with great hard bed making for a great sleep; big bathroom; balcony; microwave & stuff such that you can eat in; & wonderful views of the harbour & city. Only msall downside was that if other guests ate breakfast outside in the upstairs foyer, it made it a bit hard to sleep in. Overall, can't recommend highly enough.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights. We can honestly say that we had a very comfortable bed and slept well. Our hosts Joy and Howard were very accommodating and informative of the region. We opted for a continental breakfast which we could not fault - fresh fruit, porridge, muesli, yogurt, toast and marmalade etc. and a good pot of tea. A nice touch every morning Howard brought a rose from the garden to our table at breakfast.

The Hosts are very friendly and helpful. We walked togehter and the hosts shows us devenport. The breakfast was also perfect. The location is also perfect. You have restaurants in devenport and you can catch the ferry in front of the accommodation to auckland. The Interior was new or in a very good condition.

My husband and I were so fortunate to stay in this delightful upmarket bed and breakfast hosted by most attentive, caring and interesting hosts. Every little detail was taken care of to make our week long stay comfortable and enjoyable. Joy and Howard provided information relevant to the area which made our daily excursions throughout the adorable village of Devonport more interesting. Our delicious breakfasts were prepared and served daily to meet our dietary requests including fresh fruit collected from their own fruit trees. Everything about our stay at Admiral's Landing was perfect and we highly recommend it. Great location across from the ferry terminal and a great place to watch the busy harbour and within very short walking distance of the many shops and restaurants. Good value for money.
