Detailed Reviews
I was booked at the Griffin whilst on a riding holiday. I not only was on luck with Welsh Cobs, and Welsh weather, I struck gold at the Griffin.
It is a small, clean and quite comfortable inn with just excellent food and atmosphere.
My room was spotless, and simple but I lacked for nothing.
There is an inviting outside upper garden as well as a snug upper sitting lounge. Plenty of hot water and rooms have hairdryers as well as tea/coffee making facilities.
It’s on a busy crossroads but there is ample parking and really traffic noise was not excessive

+1
A warm and Friendly welcome from staff at The Griffin Inn, Llyswen. Very laid back but respectful atmosphere. Excellent hospitality, good ale, delicious food, comfy room, ample breakfast. Owner even nipped to the local shop to get soya milk in at breakfast. Ideally located for hikers and the Brecon Beacons national park and Pen Y Fan summit just a 10-15 mins drive away. Would definitely return and recommend. Thanks to Percy and his team for making our stay a memorable one.

We stayed 3 nts Booked direct it was B&B with continental breakfast good quality ham ,smoked salmon , cheese , hard boiled eggs , pane au Chocolat toast choice of juice nice to have Cranberry juice excellent staff at breakfast & dinner . We also had 2 course meal included on 2nd night , but we actually ate there all 3 nights food very good the public areas a little cold so by end of our dinning we were cold , but this could just be us .
Our room no 4 was very nice with a canopy double bed good size room but very cold , in the morning we found a convection heater on landing.which we moved in our room this definitely helped so after first night it was a lot better.
This was our second stay at the griffin , better than first stay in room 6.
Percy & his team give a good service & are all very friendly & helpful.
Would go back again, book direct , also out of season you can get some good deals . Thank you for a nice stay

This was the first stop on a week-long tour of Wales. It is a nice friendly Inn situated in a rural area round about the middle of the principality near the English border. There is nothing apart from the beautiful countryside around but after a day of travelling it is good to sit down to some good old fashioned pub grub. We had the sea bass and the gammon, washed down by some fine ale. The staff and the locals were friendly enough and a convivial evening was enjoyed. The room was of a decent size, clean and comfortable. I was at breakfast early leaving my partner to lie in. The breakfast was good although as we were the only customers the lady was particularly insistent that I wake him. I sent him down maybe five minutes late to eat at 10.30 and was then told by the same lady that as check out was at 10.30 there would be a £20 per hour late checkout fee imposed. At no time before that had check out been mentioned. Still I paid and left, but won't stay here again, I am sure there are plenty of other places that won't lose sleep over a guest staying 45 minutes overtime by accident.

Recently called by on the off chance of having some lunch. We had been to brecon to visit the army museum. The young man I support is gluten free. The owner went through the menu thoroughly and he chose the fish and chips. I had the cajun chicken burger. Food was amazing and so tasty
Excellent presentation. Thank you for being so helpful. The lady on bar so lovely too. Look forward to returning again soon

Enjoyed this rural stay at a crossroads country inn not far from the Brecon Beacons. The room was clean and comfortable and the management helpful. Included breakfast was excellent and the bar pie for dinner is highly recommended. Parking was convenient. Very nice!

We had a great stay. The staff were really friendly, the room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom was big, with a bath, which we love. The two times we ate in the pub, the beer was great and the food was delicious. We had the best chips!!

Excellent food, more than your regular pub grub. Plenty of choice. Really good service. We took a birthday cake which they were happy to light candles and serve. Will definitely recommend and be back soon.

I have eaten lunch here 8-10 times. Each time the food has been very good and the beer is well kept. Possibly the best tomato soup I have ever had.
Also has polite friendly service and gorgeous views from the beer garden.
Can't comment on the hotel, as I haven't stayed there.
