Detailed Reviews
Love this place. It's not very big but it is very welcoming and friendly. The food is superb at an extremely reasonable price. Think lasagne, steak, tuna nicoise, pork steaks, fish and chips etc, all well cooked and tasty. There is also a breakfast menu and lighter lunches, eg jacket potato, omelettes. The cakes are delicious, especially the chocolate brownies, served warm with ice cream. All in all, I can't fault it, I have never been disappointed on any of my visits and totally recommend if your looking for value for money, tasty food and friendly hosts.

Four motorcyclists stopped for a light lunch on our way down through Wales. As the person serving was Spanish two of us had the excellent Spanish omelette, served with excellent coffee and plenty of cold water at it was the hottest day of the year so far. The service and food were excellent and it’s on our favourite list. The toilet was clean and fresh. The only small criticism is the car park is very small.

Another excellent breakfast. Great food, reasonable prices, and friendly service. Very accommodating for families and dogs. The food came swiftly and the order was spot on, despite lots of individual requests and alterations to what was available on the menu. A great place to visit

Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.when we arrived the room was cold. There was a heating in the room, but not very good. They put a halogen heater in there, only one element out of 3 worked. The bathroom had previous guests hairs all over the shower handle and wall. The pillow case on the bed had black marks over it. As we got into bed and turned the wooden bed frame broken in half. The owner response was,I’m sorry and him and my husband put the broken bed frame outside and we slept on the mattress on the floor. If wasn’t for our granddaughter christening next morning ,we would of gone home. The room was £70 a night, so when we went for breakfast, the owner gave us the bill for £60 pounds for the night. They expected us to pay that, for spending the night on the floor.

Dear both. We are so sorry that your stay with us was not satisfactory. We apologise about the bed breaking, we did offer you another room but admittedly the heating had not been in in that room and would take a while to heat up, so the only option we had was the use of the other bed and mattress in the floor, we accept this is not ideal hence why you were charged £35 for the night and your extra large breakfasts. We take great pride in our levels of cleaning as you can see from previous guest comments and dispute your comments about the level of cleanliness. Again we are sorry about your experience here, we do try our best to please, all the best.

Reviewing the restaurant only.
The food was ok but more greasy spoon than what you would expect from a much-travelled chef. We ate inside and were overpowered by the greasy smell of cooking. Our car stank of cooking when we continued our journey. Now we know why so many ate outside. Not happy.
This would be an ideal spot to stop for a meal if travelling from South to Mid or North Wales. But, its irregular opening times - often shut for weeks - mean you are never sure of finding it open.

A lovely 3 night stay, in a spotless comfortable room. Breakfasts were delicious, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and avocado to suit my pescatarian taste. The best Welsh rarebit on arrival. Johnathon and Paola were so welcoming and full of local information. Dogs welcome too! We will return.

I recently visited this venue as I was doing some motorcycle training in the area. It’s a beautiful setting with seating inside and out. The first notable thing was the attentiveness of the staff. So polite, courteous and helpful it was refreshing. We only stopped for bacon rolls and a pot of tea but it was served quickly and the food was immense. So much so, I return the next day in the car and had a full English breakfast and a pot of tea which was simply outstanding.
I would thoroughly recommend this place, whether it’s breakfast or the lunchtime menu. It’s certainly my destination of choice now.

We passed by after recommendations from friends and very glad we listened to their advice.
Lives up to the reputation the hosts have gained for such a great all round experience.
Fantastic food, really clean rooms & even in this cold wet weather, the rooms are warm and very comfortable.
We have already booked our return stay on the way back next week & can’t wait. What a treat!
Highly recommended.
