After taking a walk up to the chalky white horse. The Forresters arms was a lovely lovely treat for us. Must say the cherry scone won a unanimous vote between myself and partner in the cheese vs cherry debate! Thanks we shall return (maybe for a fruit scone)

Popped in for lunch. Your always a little sceptical about your 1st visit. So glad we called in, what a splendid place this is. Bar man was friendly & had a sense of humour which is rare these days. Was nice to have a chat about the area. Now down to the food, my partner ordered the homemade beefburger with...

Had a lovely 2 night stay here with my partner and our dogs. Our room was great and breakfast was yummy. Our dogs were well catered for too which put us at ease. The local area was stunning with lots to see. We found the evening meals a little expensive for what we needed but quality was good.

We stayed over night to celebrate my son's engagement. We were made very welcome. The Inn is very characterful and comfortable. We had a family meal and the host kindly set up the breakfast room to take us away from the busy bar area. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meal very much. After the meal we moved...

Went here for a 2 night stay. Staff friendly and helpful, rooms as expected for a pub with controlable heating. Food in restaurant excellent and good value. Though if you look on the Web site it has an a la carte as well as the standard. There is no a la carte, update the Web site owners

9 of us visited for lunch in the restaurant. Excellent selection to choose from, prompt efficient service. Good quality well presented food, very tasty. No complaints from anyone, had a varying selection of dishes. Portions large , puddings divine. Loved the shortbread mice served with coffee. Very pleasant atmosphere. Will be back.

Just returned form a 2 day break at this fantastic hotel. It was booked as a Xmas gift from the children and we were able to take our small dog which was made more than welcome by the owners and locals which was a massive bonus. The accommodation itself was small but had everything we needed, the only negative i...

A cosy, homely and welcoming pub with friendly staff. My husband and I had fish and chip which was the best I have ever had. It was served with delicious home made tartare sauce and mush peas. Dogs are welcome and we have already enquired for a Mother's Day booking.

Battled through floods to get to the pub for lunch. We were greeted with a roaring fire and friendly staff. Three of us had lamb casserole and the other member of our party had the game casserole, very enjoyable, good and hot, and reasonable priced. Clean loos, and decent car park. Will go again.

Having read a few reviews about the Foresters Arms I was a little concerned that they ranged from 'great place to stay' to 'awful place to stay' Well I have to say its a great place to stay, the welcome we got was first class, the service was spot on and the food was cracking. The room was good although...
