This was the perfect place for a mothers and teen-daughters trip away. We stayed in family rooms with en suite facilities, which were immaculate. The rooms are basic but have everything you need: comfortable beds and bedding, hand soap, bedside lights and lots of plug sockets. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. There was a large group of young...

We had an en-suite family room with bunks and a double bed. This was clean and comfortable and suited our purpose ideally. We only stayed for one night, although we would have liked to stay for much longer. Friendly, helpful staff and a really pleasant restaurant area. We decided to come back to the hostel for our evening meal and...

This hostel is comfortable, easy to locate, clean, and staffed by caring helpful people who make a sincere effort to cater to everyone. As mentioned in a previous review, a couple of problems in the self catering kitchen need attention. The stove tops are old and out of date and two of the three were not working during my stay.

Stayed with the family in an en suite family room. Clean and comfortable throughout. Staff were lovely and welcoming. 20 min walk to the city walls. I would definitely recommend it. Plus the wine we got there was really nice!

It's true what people say, the hostel is not near the city centre. There are two ways to get there and both are lovely. It is a 25min walk, more or less, but it's worth it and you get to enjoy it. The hostel is lovely. The room had four beds but we were just three persons. It was big...

Overall I had a good stay from 24/12/2016 to 27/12/2017. It was like a mini-UN, with Brits and many interesting people from across the globe. I offer the following comments, although not major may help to improve areas. 1. The Kitchen is far too small for the cooking at busy times. 2. One of the hobs was faulty and needed...

Nice large modern hostel. Great location 20 mins walk to the minster and centre of York. Unusual rooms in separate block. Modern and huge with nezzanine floor. Slept 4 but could have got at least 8 beds in - literally. Games room poor. Nothing except a pool table and few board games/books. Hardly any seats even. Self catering area fine...

Hi, Thanks for your review PhilLay76. I think you may of stayed in C01, our wheelchair friendly room which is why there's a lot of unused space. Thanks for your feedback on the games room and self catering kitchen, we have recently added more seating to the kitchen but are limited to what we can do due to its size....
