Me and my friends could not have been happier with our stay here. We rented the entire castle to ring in the New Year together and it was simply perfect! A perfect mix of retaining all the old castle features, but with a few (very appreciated) modern features, including heating in every room, WiFi, and a VERY well equipped modern...

Ross Castle is not 5 star accommodation, but it is an authentic experience of staying in a genuine castle in the beautiful countryside of Meath County. It is the character of the place and experience of communal dining in the wonderful living areas (complete with antique furniture, suits of armour and buffalo head trophies mounted on the walls) as well...

We visit Ross Castle on particularly cold day and it was very cold inside as well as out. The facilities were very good, the food was lovely - communal dining was helped by the fact the the other guests were charming. The bed was comfy and the room spacious and well appointed. When I complained about the cold - a...

Thank you for staying at Ross Castle and your candid review. We have made some significant upgrades to the heating system in recent years, however making a 500 year old castle as warm as a modern home is next to impossible. We are working to improve the castle on a continuous basis to ensure that all of our guests enjoy...

My family stayed in Ross Castle on the 27th and 28 th of Dec. There were 11 adults and 8 children under six. We had a most relaxing and brilliant time. The castle had ideal accommodation for our large family. Very exciting for the children. The hosts Jackie her husband and daughter and Vanessa were amazing. Nothing was too much...

Myself and 7 overs gathered by the fire yesterday evening as we settled in for the night great for a group get together or just if you fancied playing king and queen for the evening...

The Castle is beautifully decorated, the rooms are spotless and full of character. We stayed in one of the tower rooms, it was really lovely, with en suite bathroom and a gorgeous four poster bed! There was a group of us, we had a beautiful meal and sat around a roaring fire chatting into the wee hours. Would totally recommend...

I wanted a more authentic castle stay and sure did find it at Ross Castle B & B -- from the ride up on a small winding road to this beautiful castle tower set on a hill overlooking the river. The HISTORY talk about the HISTORY - commissioned by King Henry VIII for 11 Pounds. The tower room were two...

First, the people who manage the castle are fantastic! The food was great, the room was very clean and the grounds were charming. My husband asked to spend a night in a castle and this is the place I picked. It is a bonafide rustic medieval castle- stone walls and lots of animal mounts. The experience of staying here was...

We had a fantastic night here last weekend, a group of my friends went down on Saturday night and had a beautiful dinner. I stayed in the top tower room (Sabina's) room which was amazing as you can see from the picture. You can see Lough Sheelin from the bathroom window! Excellent stay in a castle steeped in character and...

My wife and I stayed here around Halloween. We stayed in the Upper Tower room which was amazing. Vanessa and Jackie were great hosts and the castle is a very special place to stay. It has a very interesting history and is the most authentic castle hotel I have seen in Ireland. Highly recommend for those looking for something different.
