You should look for deals on Groupon or TravelZoo for stays at the resorts right at Heavenly Gondola, as well as staying at Kingsbury of Tahoe, which is right at the ski lifts. There are shuttles to the strip, which is very convenient, and one stops right in front of Kingsbury of Tahoe, or even stay at The Ridge.
