I have visited this place twice in the last 3 years, and both times not for long enough. The accommodations are comfortable and friendly. Being surrounded by the jungle makes this place serene, especially in the evening as the stars come out and you are surrounded by the sounds of frogs, crickets and birds going to rest. Sunny is a great guide, as he knows the local people very well and actively tries to improve their lives, which makes the experience of meeting them more fun. This is one of my favourite places in India and a hidden gem.

Just returned from a fabulous weekend at Bhoramdeo Jungle Retreat. Sunny, the owner, is full of infectious enthusiasm and fell over backwards to ensure that I was, as a female travelling solo, well looked after. First night we went to see a Baiga dance in a local village, followed by drinks around the camp fire listening to local Indian musicians playing music during our pre-dinner drinks. Dinner afterwards was delicious. Next day I was taken for tours around local villages to see how they worked which was fascinating. Sunny then took me to a tribal market which was extremely special, as it allowed me a very privaleged and rare insight into how the Baiga's live and work. Sunny was an excellent guide and I was able to take some extremely special photographs. Rooms are

Last weekend I visited this place and stayed there for a night. As it is a small place we were not expecting much from it but it turned out in a fabulous experience. The resort gives you village feel it is surrounded by small cliffs and have very peaceful environment. The famous bhoramdeo temple is on walking distance. You get simple (home style) food which is great thing. A special tribal dance was organised in a nearby village and the day ended with bonfire with live artiste playing flute and tabla this was an another mind blowing experience.

I spent a few days in this Fairy Resort (as I called it), Quiet, deep in a natural enviroment , close to a beautifull ancient Temple, and surrounded by very interesting Tribal Villages and near to colourfull Markets.. I found a very friendly and warm atmosphere due to Sunny and his great staff. I suggest this Eco resort to everyone who loves nature and human contact.

We were incredibly lucky to end up at Bhoramdeo Jungle Retreat and to meet Sunny, who is the most wonderful of hosts. Arriving in the off-season with the national park closed, we had only planned a few nights but ended up staying much longer thanks to Sunny's fascinating tours around the tribal villages, temples, markets and the jungle surrounding his place. This is the fourth time I traveled around India and my first time in Chhattisgarh, and this is definitely one of the most unique and remote places I have ever visited. That said, the rooms are lovely and comfortable, the garden is beautiful and Sunny does his very best to make you feel right at home. BJR was definitely a highlight of our trip and we are planning to return soon - I would advise anyone interested in seeing a

I would advise anyone looking to escape the beaten path to come and visit Sunny at Bhoramdeo. The Jungle Retreat is a fantastic and comfortable place to stay and gives an amazing opportunity to visit an entirely different side of India. Sadly, we were out of season for the national parks, but visiting tribal markets with Sunny was one of the highlights of our trip. I hope to be back soon!

We were advised to visit Bhormadeo by our friend. I really had no idea what to expect but Sunny and his staff ended up making our Bhormandeo visit the highlight of our travels. The price was incredible for what was included. We were looked after day and night, with Sunny always pulling exciting new excursions out of the bag; walks through the jungle, visiting schools, tribal markets, pottery villages. A highlight was being taken to the police station nearby and having mehendi whilst we had chai with the police chief. With Sunny as our guide we got to see a part of India that as regular tourists you don't get to see very often. Village families would ask us in for tea, we were invited round for dinner somewhere or other almost every day. The food made by Sunny's cook was

I stayed at BJR after being recommended by a friend and I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity. The resort is so peaceful...on the edge of the jungle near the beautiful Bhoramdeo Temple. If you want to experience true, rural India then you have to come to this place! With Sunny as a fantastic host, we were made to feel like part of the community in the one week that we stayed there. His staff are wonderful and the food we ate there was absolutely delicious! Sunny organised some amazing activities for us, such as visiting local schools, planting trees, visiting local villages and going to a tribal market. It really was a magical week and I will definitely be going back one day - I highly recommend it.

A perfect base to visit natural parks, tribes villages, spectacular landscapes and beautifull enchanting temples out of the tourist mass circuits. You will find in the villages a very wellcoming, clean and safe atmosphere wich will make you feel the real India. The owner of Jungle Retreat, Sunny an his broad smile, will make your stay so nice and easy that you will feel you are among long time friends. And he is a perfect guide aswell! Do not miss the campfire at nigh and, if you like looking the stars and constelations you have another great reason to go there.
