Outstanding service and attention to detail. They are very well prepared for the fact that most guests stay here just to leave early in the morning to see Gurudongmar lake. The tariff was inclusive of all meals but given the paucity of any viable meal options nearby, this works out well. The quality of food is superb and the wait staff are attentive. They served us an Indian buffet for dinner with adequate choices. They packed us breakfast to take with us and served lunch when we came back, even though we had checked out of our rooms in the morning when we left for the lake. It is a very beautiful property and I'm just sad that we hadn't chosen to stay longer. Both the general area and this particular location at the top of the hill have fantastic views. The rooms are spacious and ours was on the second floor with a spectacular view of the mountains. Each room has an electric heater and an electric blanket. A particularly thoughtful touch was the staff coming around to each room at night and offering a flask of hot water. I would happily stay here again and for a longer period.

An excellent hotel at such far off place , there is nothing adverse to write. Spacioys rooms with double bed , sitting area with sofa and additional sitting area near window to have nice valley view. Fresh linen and towels, toiletries, hot water geyser, Ekectric bed warming mattress, room heater, tea kettle. A very tasty food. Buffet dinner was north Indian style with 5/6 veg items & non veg was served on table. As everyone leaves early Morning packed breakfast is provided. Lunch was Chinese very tasty. The fish preparation was excellent. Staff are very polite and helpful. Words are short to explain the hospitality provided. Hats off to management.

I think this is one of the best in lachen. The staff is very cordial and do their best in such challenging conditions. Food is good too and they provide packed breakfast for early morning gurudongmar lake visit. Room heaters and bed warmer are a real blessing. Of course they don't work of there is a paper cut which is understandable. There is quite a bit of climbing to your rooms and certainly not suited for elderly or someone who has issues with climbing. We loved our stay here.

Lachen itself is just a base camp for trip to Gurudongmar lake n a small n tough spot This hotel will sap all your energy just to reach it. After the lengthy drive on bad roads you have to climb up a steep incline n then take several steps to reach your room, this we got even after requesting agent specialy for comfortable approach to rooms. Food is basic but served lovingly, Room heater, geyser n electric blanket working fine

We stayed here for one night on our trip to Gurudongmar Lake. We reached late at night however the hotel staff were very helpful. Next day we had an early morning trip to Garuda Mall and they packed breakfast. That day we had a long trip and returned back very late at around 5 PM. However the hotel people were nice to save lunch for us and when we returned they warmed the food and served to us. This is probably the best hotel in lachen. The rooms are decent and have heaters and electric blankets. The only thing lacking is probably cable TV. Food and service was good. Just to remind you lachen is a small place and don’t expect too much luxuries. The only downside with regards to the hotel is that you will need to climb quite a few steps to reach the property.

My wife and I stayed at the Apple Orchard on 14-16 November and I must say that we were blown away by the service. The manager Kumar, the chef and the staff are so well-organised and good that we loved every minute spent at the hotel. They went above and beyond what was required of them. The food was great as well. They made sure they took care of all our needs and were very attentive at all times.

5 star rating is less for this place! Its a unique combination of location, scaping, comfort and hospitality. We had stayed in this place for 2 nights and if possible, wouldn't mind spending couple of more days. This is an absolute boutique hotel at top-of-hill in Lachen. You don't expect such a beautiful hotel in a remote hamlet of Sikkim. The hotel is built with excellent land scaping, mostly built in stone and wood, highlighted with Tibetan architecture. Rooms are cozy and comfortable with excellent view of hills which surround this hotel. Staff is simply superb and extremely cooperative, always ready to help. Dining area is also kept and warm and welcoming where home-style food is served. Manager of the hotel is gem of a person and ensures that every guest is given the best hospitality. Just visit the place if you enjoy solitude and peace. You will always like to come back to this place! If you have elders with you and need easy access to hotel and rooms, you may not like to stay here as to reach hotel or rooms you have to climb few stone clobbered steps.

lovely property almost all reviews are positive approach to hotel wont be suited for elderly or people with very young kid but in all terms property is worth every penny they are charging food is good spread (lunch and dinner spread is also decent) I personally didn't expected such good property in place like Lachen Hotel is well equipped with all the basic facilities required (electric blanket , heater, geyser ) .Room views are very scenic love the place . Lots of input provided by the manager which were very useful good interaction. Very polite and helpful staff. Almost all rooms are having good views . Again repeating my words " Worth every penny" .A must visit .Last but not the least Cherry Brandy shots were icing on the cake .Thanks for every thing specially for medicines for my teenage kid.

One of the best or rather the best property in Lachen. Great hospitality, delicious and great spread of food inspite of Lachen being remote. Rooms were clean with good heating provision, continuous hot water in the bathrooms, get view of the snow cap mountains and not to forget a cozy & comfortable restaurant. Special call out to Kumar and his team for their service and making sure that we were taken care off. All the staff right from front desk, room service, house keeping etc. were courteous

Apple Orchard has an approach with stone steps narrow BUT the welcome with cherry brandy at the reception is amazing. The electric blankets in the cozy wooden cottages all but make up for the approach. Christmas trees, decorations, and snowfall are amazing in December and January. But Gurudongmar Lake, Nathula Pass, and Yarlam Valley might be closed due to snowfall from 15th December to 15th January so plan accordingly. The almost home cooked food was amazing, The staff is exceptionally hospitable. The best place to stay in Lachen.
