I stayed here for a week with my husband and 2 Labrador dogs in October 2014. The cottage is attached to the owner's home but has its own entrance and consists of a hallway, open plan living /dining area with French doors which open on to a small secure garden, a spacious double bedroom and a bathroom with a shower....

We stayed in The Ranters Rest Cottage for 4 nights in July 2014 with 2 dogs. A lovely cottage set in the hills with a gorgeous secluded garden & views We had a welcome gift of homemade bread & marmalade & muffins which was a lovely surprise. If you are visiting with dogs visit Camber Sands – there is a...

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Ranter's Rest. Gilly serves the most healthy, fresh and tasty breakfasts and every last detail is carefully thought out. The rooms are peaceful and very clean. The gardens and surrounding fields are beautiful. A short drive from quaint Rye and the seaside. She loved meeting our toddler too and looked after him so well, going...

This was our first cottage stay ever and we got a good price as they had an offer at the time. So it was a good value for money. We were a bit disappointed to find out that it was attached to the owner's house as we did not know this in advance. However, the place was lovely. The open...

We had a wonderful stay at Jilly's very homely B&B where we were made to feel very welcome. The room was immaculate with every thoughtful extra you could want (Scrabble, proper coffee, books, homemade biscuits...!). We enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden overlooking the valley and were recommended a nice pub for dinner, which is a lovely stroll away across...

What a find!! Don't be put off by the narrow lane because the hidden gem you will find when you reach Ranter's Rest is fantastic!! Set in delightful countryside and a wonderfully, peaceful garden is this perfect retreat. We stayed just the one night. No TV but a digital radio added to the peacefulness. The room was spotless with home...

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights on a getaway from the children and we had the best time! Its a lovely part of the country, winding lanes, woodland walks, nature reserves, a coastal park and only a few miles from the beach, but to be honest you can just climb up the hill behind the house and...

Althought not in Rye, it was only around the corner. Gilly and Jeff were terrific hosts and Gilly's breakfast was as good as it gets - and all home grown! We loved the peace a quiet. Jeff was able to provide some excellent tips on visiting the region, which we used to advantage. We were even invited to his birthday...

Great for cyclists, walkers and people who genuinely love pub food, who don't mind walking up an appetite by crossing the fields. Just remember to take a torch. Then when you awake in the morning you are driven mad by the divine smell of homemade bread. Breakfast is a light feast, made with home grown produce taken from Gilly's peaceful...
