I spent a lot of weekends at Sankofa Beach House and for me it was beyond magic. I had a great time always and really miss it because the beach view and the warmth and personalized service was second to none. I am planning trip...More
We heard about Sankofa Beach House on a flight from DC to Accra. On short notice, we contacted the owner to arrange to have breakfast, and to enjoy the beach and the breeze. The owner was very accommodating in working with our schedule. Staff even...More
I've been here several times in the last few years and never regretted. The place has a nice beach, excellent food and is a great beach to spend your weekend in Accra, Probably the best. The prices are really not expensive for what you get.
I have NEVER been treated so disrespectfully when entering into a hotel!! We called the day before going to Sankofa Beach House to set up a reservation to spend the night. When we arrived and parked, the owner barged out of the reception area gesturing...More

Amazing story! If the reviewer indeed had a reservation, I would know his name. While a person called me the day before suggesting they were sending me someone for lunch or possibly a nights stay, there was no reservation.
When the family arrived, they pulled...More

ABSOLUTELY NOT! This is not how we run our business. This common knowledge shared by guests who patronize us, send us referrals and praise our operation. However, I will admit that due to increases in the number of guests recently while at the same time understaffed, we have had times where we could not give day visitors who stop by for lunch the time and prompt service they deserve when we get busy. Our Chef and Supervisor for six years passed away in July and we are finding ourselves having to fill his staffing responsibilities with new people. We have to give our residential guests first priority. Many of guests understand that we do not run a large commercial kitchen. We never have a menu as we attempt to maintain low inventories of fresh food. As a consequence many of our guests order their lunch in advance of their arrival and we provide great custom meals. New guests could arrive on busy weekends when we have 15 or more lunch orders before they arrive. This justifiably causes some frustration, however, there certainly is no reason to be rude to any guest. Often problems or misunderstandings like this could be resolved on site and in person at the time they occur. This would allow us the opportunity to resolve your concern. Comments like this are helpful as we strive to get even better at we do and particularly as we bring on new staff. I have no idea what your exact complaint is since this is the first I am hearing of it. Nevertheless, your welcome to contact me directly from our website. My sincere apologies and thank you for bringing your concerns to my attention. Masao Meroe, Owner
