The Lighthouse Motel & Cottages is one of only a few remaining 1950s drive-in motels in Nova Scotia. Under new ownership and management since Spring 2017, all 15 air-conditioned units have been completely renovated creating a boutique lodging experience along the LaHave River. Blending modern Canadiana with eclectic coastal elements, The Lighthouse boasts 500 feet of waterfront with a small private beach as well as several acres of green space appointed with communal BBQs, picnic tables for al fresco dining and various seating areas highlighted by a large communal firepit. Unique to the property is a renovated boathouse cottage converted into 3 studios directly on the LaHave River & a 2 bedroom cottage that can accommodate up to 6 guests. Situated on the historic Lighthouse Route minutes away from Crescent & Rissers Beaches, the property is perfectly situated for exploring nearby Lunenburg, Mahone Bay & Kejimkujik National Park. Oh, & dogs are welcome here!

We loved our stay here and wished we had booked for more than one night. The level of service was outstanding and the owners have truly thought of everything guests might need - from a campfire all set up and ready to just drop a match, bug spray on hand, patio blankets and ice & buckets at the ready, a lovely BBQ area, and a lovely set up with plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy. The rooms were very tastefully decorated as well. We will definitely go out of our way to return here in the future!

Incredible staff with tasteful and quaint rooms. The towels were soft and the beds were very comfortable. Our room with a kitchen was very well appointed, with everything we needed for a 3 night stay. The waterfront area was perfect for morning coffee and evening beverages. So many sweet little touches that made this stay exceptional.

This was our favourite stay during our east coast road trip. The friendly staff were incredibly accommodating to our group of 14, the rooms were well stocked & the property had a lot of places to relax & hangout including Muskoka chairs on the picturesque dock. We’ll be back!

Our family, which included 46 overnight guests and 4 day time guests, had the privilege of getting together for 3 days and 2 nights at this beautiful location. We had booked the entire facility one year in advance and hoped that COVID and travel restrictions were behind us. After so long apart, our family was able to get together at this amazing destination. It was like an episode on HGTV as we stepped into each of the themed rooms and cottages! Lovely decor, amenities, and comfort greeted us! The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. Two nights of campfires, daily swimming, and fun for all ages who attended. I would highly recommend this motel to anyone! Thanks for the memories...we'll be back in 5 years!

It's impossible to describe in just a few words how wonderful and beautiful this establishment is! The hosts are delightful, the brand image on point, the accomodations above expectation and the scenery absolutely gorgeous. I strongly recommend this home away from home. I will be back 🖤

Spent a couple of days with family there. The property is beautifully situated on the Lahave River with a wharf, beach and private backyard rolling down to the river. This motel has been renovated into individually unique rooms beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. Marc, one of the owners, and his staff took great care of us with friendly and very attentive service. I highly recommend this place for small groups, family holidays or a "get out of town" weekend.

I can’t begin to say enough about our stay here in July 2022 for a large family reunion. We booked out the whole facility and enjoyed every piece of the property: the beautiful view, the grassy field, the fantastic wharf and the big fire pit. The rooms are gorgeously decorated and super clean with any amenity you need. Staff was super friendly. Would come here anytime… WILL be back!

The owners and staff were friendly and amazing. We stayed in Nestor's Point, a family cottage, with our 19-year-old and 21-year-old. From the comfortable beds, full kitchen, living room with a river view, private area and fire pit, it was everything that we could want. Add incredible morning and evening views, and it was a perfect couple of days. Added bonus, we got our dog fix! I've already shared our experience on a Nova Scotia Facebook page. Everyone should know about this gem!
