This is the place who love peace and quiet that is to be found in nature. This is an exceptionally comfortable place, with lots of places in the garden to laze around. From the owner, we learnt concepts of rewilding the garden, various farming techniques, and many other interesting things. The stay was a learning experience. The food was simple and delicious. Even in the peak of summers, the cottages were cool. A sanctuary in nature's lap, away from loud and crowded places, and with a great view in front.
I stayed here for a week. Loved their hospitality. Lazing around in the garden is the best thing to do here, or discuss about some interesting farming practices with the hosts. Food is simple and homely. Some tips for a great stay - Travel light and don't carry any games. They have plenty of board games. If you are addicted to Colas, carry your own bottles. Get up early and go for walks. Spend as much time as possible outside. You won't find such fresh natural surroundings easily.
Honestly I don’t know where to begin amongst the beautiful memories which were created at this amazing place hosted by Dr Shivam ! This was the second time I visited this place the first time I had been there with my college gang but had stayed only for one night so this time I decided to take my family to this beautiful place The cottages are extremely clean the food is amazing (gives you the feel of home cooked food ) the variety is tremendous This place is the perfect balance of a very good resort with clean rooms good food and at the same time gives you the feel of a home stay with so much privacy everything catered to your exact requirements The amount of detailing that dr Shivam has done is very special and he engages you in such great conversations We enjoyed the…
This is the best place I have ever stayed at, in the last many years. Homely atmosphere with a nice garden (or 'woods' as the owner calls it) next to the cottage. Me and my family got to learn about various natural farming methods and about the delicate balance that exists in nature. We stayed here for five days and each day was a culinary surprise for us. The food was simply out of this world. From local Kumaoni food to Salads from Europe, these people really know their food. The dining area has a rustic charm.
It’s was an awesome stay at the cottage. Hospitality of Dr Maini is worth praise. Pawan and Vikki took good care of us. Vikki even obliged us with his beautiful songs. Met Akash ji who spread cheerfulness in one and all. All three generations our mother, us and our kids were well taken care of. I have never seen my mother so happy in my life. Cleanliness, beauty of nature, excellent food and so many more gestures are worth praise. We met Dr Maini as our host and feel he is a part of extended family now. Such lovely memories made here are worth treasure for our lives. Thanks from the bottom of my heart

We visited the cottage , on 29 th dec 21, there are so many Colors to this beautiful place that 200 words are less ! Firstly the cottage is beautifully built with a fireplace , clean with all the required amenities, since the pandemic was still going on , we had least interaction with any of the management staff which was good .Secondly , if u truly want to connect with nature and urself , the forest trail , the beautiful sunsets n sunrises seen over the breathtaking mountain peaks was a once in a life time sight …. Thirdly the cuisine n dining was unique and awesome , nothing was on a repeat , absolutely delicious, a platter of variety was displayed even at -5 degrees! The home made apricot jelly should never be missed ! The cottage has a mini golf ⛳️, if Ud like to try any…
There are many possible stays in a visit - some offer a great menu, some great views while some grand comforts. Maini's Hill Cottage ideally mixes all of them. We planned a short stay here in the month of November to rush away from the dean & bustles of Kanpur during Dewali. After 11 hour-long drive, we reached the place in the afternoon of 4th November. The first thing that happened was a call from Dr. Maini, 'Have you reached Haldwani?' The answer generated an explanation that since we missed the lunch during the travel, a perfect afternoon meal is being prepared for us! Such a lovely concern. When we reached the cottage, Dr. Maini was immediately in action arranging our stay and giving a brief introduction to organic farming. That various plants can live together in…
We visited Natadol, Maini's Cottages after due diligence with the owner, found it same as photos and descriptions on his website. Beautiful, serene, calm, laidback hamlet of Natadol and Dr. Maini's cottages reminded us of old world RAJ era charm with ultra-modern amenities we are so accustomed to. There are 2 cottages on the property, both identical with great views of the Himalayas, both cottages have one master bedroom and two 1st floor rooms, total 3 double rooms, a functional kitchen and sitting area with heating(hearth). Car parking is available, safe and inside the compound. We were pleasantly surprised to find no TV and felt great being away from the hub-bub of city life. Dr. Maini himself has metamorphosed into an avid nature/ wildlife aficionado. He has vast…
I spent a weekend at Maini's Hill Cottages (July 3-4, 2021) and came away extremely impressed with the way Shivam Maini and his team manage the business. Everything is top quality: the meals, the rooms, the (beautiful) property, and the meticulous care and attention to detail that has gone into every aspect of it. In fact, it looks less like a 'business', and more like a vocation for Shivam. The fact that Natadol is a lovely place, away from the bustle of usual hill spots, adds to the charm. I wish Shivam and his team the best for the future, and strongly recommend this place to future travellers.
