Take a walk down the picturesque countryside or just wander around on the stepped-orchards. With a view of the majestic Himalayas, breathe in the fresh air and rejuvenate your body and soul. Each cottage consists of multiple rooms and is given out as a whole. The meals are prepared using high-quality ingredients, mostly organic and sourced locally. I along with my wife and daughter had stayed at Maini's Hill Cottages for three nights. The cottage is located on a mountain at a beautiful location and has breathtaking views of Himalayas and snow covered peaks line. Place: The cottage remembers one of old English style cottages on mountains which have old hard wood furniture, raised wooden ceilings, beautiful fireplace in the living room, big rooms with wooden panels on wall and floor, beautiful carpets etc. The interiors of the cottage are very tastefully done. The owner of the property has maintained premium quality modern facilities inside the cottage. The problem, in general, with the homestays is of cleanliness and hygiene but at Maini's Cottages the property is managed so nicely that one can easily compare it with any five star hotel room. This especially includes bed linens, blanket, towels, bathroom toiletries etc. The property has beautiful orchards of apple, pear, plum, apricot etc. The garden and lawns are beautifully maintained where one can spend hours and hours lying on grass and reading books. Food: Initially, we were having apprehensions in respect of quality and variety of food at the homestay. But, at Maini’s cottages we were amazed to see that the Chef has prepared so many variety of food which also includes pasta, Russian salad, mutton biryani, local kumaoni cuisine, garlic bread, noddles etc. We were having our six yrs daughter with us and making her feed was a big problem but here the owner was so kind that whenever our daughter demanded any food item they provided her immediately with warmth and smile. We loved the taste and quality of food and found that the owner himself guides his Kitchen team in respect of food to ensure the taste and quality. Management: The owner of the property deserves lot of praises. He is a gentleman with deep intellect. I still remember our in depth discussions on various fields including philosophies, science, farming and nature. The staff is very courteous and warm and they made all the efforts to make our stay as much comfortable as possible. The owner guided us to many local places which are literally hidden gems in mountains. Suggestion: The Maini’s Cottages is a place for people who are looking for a place full of peace, serenity, calmness with beautiful mountain views and without compromising on the quality of food, comfort and luxury. …

Stayed for ten days in the month of June 23 with extended family, There are two cottages and we were occupying both of them fully. In addition part of our group was staying at a near by place but all 21 of us were at times eating at Maini's. The host Dr Shivam is fantastic, a totally righteous person doing the right thing at all times, never to get flustered among a boisterous and demanding gang of 21 people including 4 high energy kids.He made all our reasonable/unreasonable demands look like common place and full filled them with complete equanimity. Every meal curated by him was a delight. His biryani's and sandalwood chicken were to die for. The cottages were very well maintained and every nook and corner was working like a clockwork. I can go on and on but suffice it to say we had an awesome time at Maini's amidst lush green orchards, mini gol golf course and fabulous view. A gentle suggestion- when both the cottages are full the housekeeping is stretched to the fullest and Dr Shivam may like to consider adding additional help. …

We returned yesterday from our holiday , couldn't help but pen down my thoughts on our stay in Maini Hill Cottages. Dr Shivam is the most anazing host with a lovely home stay which was our home for 8 nights. Their food , ambience , views of the majestic Himalayan Mountain range , mini 18 hole golf and ofcourse his warm hospitality makes it an ideal holiday get away . Cottages are ideally located in the midts of the lush greenery and the fruit ladden orchads trees . Dr Shivam is an encyclopedia of kumaon so can suggest many activities depending on yr intrest. We were probably the largest group they had hosted , overwelmed they might have been but coped very well. Will recommend highly !

The place is a piece of Heaven on Earth. The quality of cottages, the amenities, the housekeeping, the customized service, the view, the landscaped gardens, the putting golf course, the food (including fresh and organic fruits & vegetables), the exotic birds, the hospitality and above all, the Host (Dr. Maini & Family). I could go on and on and on... This was my second visit to the property. It's aloof in a wonderful way, at the same time, almost everything that you ask for is sourced in no time.... This is one place I could go to, again and again, with friends, family, even solo!

This is one of the best places I have ever stayed at. Everyday was a new experience. The cottage has its own little shortcomings, but the hospitality is the best that I have experienced on my visits to India. Olena and her family are cooks par excellence. Delicious food that was cooked to perfection, was an everyday affair. I loved their breads and European dishes. Local Indian dishes were also delicious but on the spicier side. Overall, it is a gastronomic paradise. I must have added pounds to my weight during my stay. The walks in the orchard are a learning experience. Every time, when we met the owners, we discussed horticulture, their farming practices, ecology, nature, fighting climate crisis. The place is a fountain of learning for those who want to listen.

We came to know about this place from some friends of ours and with some doubts we took a chance. This is a gem! The stay was comfortable. Quite a cosy place. Our kids loved the rooms on the upper floor. The food was homely and awesome. We enjoyed a lot many local dishes. The garden is not the usual excessively trimmed and shaped kind. There are lots of trees and some places to relax underneath them. Feels very close to nature. We also got an opportunity to learn a lot about mother nature. Overall a great stay and awesome hospitality. Beats even the best of star properties, I have stayed at. Highly recommended.

One of my best stays. The cottages are just superb with great views and very well maintained. The hospitality Dr. Shivam and his team is Exceptional. Also very good areas around to explore. Must visit for Nature lovers and very peaceful serene surroundings. Cannot wait to go there again.

The cottages are located in one corner of the large property. There is natural beauty all around. The owners believe in keeping some of the garden portions wild. The snow-peaks can be seen in front, and the clouds keep floating around. Food was yummy. Loved the Kumaoni chicken gravy and daal. The property has a mini-golf course that was fun and challenging. Will surely visit again.
