The room was well furnished and clean. Comfortable beds. Lots of tea and coffee! Breakfast was a good traditional breakfast. Would recommend this B&B. Lovely setting, nestled in a valley in the north Yorkshire moors. Good local pub for food half a mile away.

A working dairy farm with just two rooms for b & b. Excellent rooms and a breakfast second to none. The owner, Lynda, is very friendly and seems to know everything about the area. The farm is set in a beautiful location and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby.

We went on the spur of the moment trip to Yorkshire. They kindly accommodated us and 2 of our children. Friendly welcome and facilities were better than we have had in some hotel. The children loved seeing the cows coming in for milking. Great value for money and the breakfast was great .

My friend and I had a brilliant holiday in and around the North Yorkshire Moors. The location of Rowantree Farm is perfect for easy access to towns and wonderful countryside. Linda, at Rowantree, is friendly, welcoming and very busy looking after her guests whilst helping her husband run this dairy farm. Lovely lady, lovely food and lovely rooms....very comfortable. Perfect!

This is a very welcoming and comfortable place to stay. It's very clean and has a very cosy feel about it. The landlady makes a fantastic breakfast in the mornings. The views are stunning and the surrounding area is very picturesque. Would highly recommend to anybody.

If you are looking to to find somewhere quiet and in the heart of the valley I really would recommend staying at Rowantree Farm. Linda was a fantastic host and even took time to show the kids the cows in the morning, which they really enjoyed. Definetley worth picking up the phone to book you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful place to stay. Very peaceful overlooking the valley. Lovely room (double) separate bathroom with bath and shower only used by the Double room. Lovely tasty breakfast served by the lovely landlady Linda who is very welcoming and chatty. A really nice place and I will definitely stay there again.

Pleased to say nothing has changed since our last visit here a few years back - same friendly welcome from Mrs Tindall, the same high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail and the same lovely breakfasts. We wouldn't have gone back if it wasn't less than first class, there are plenty more B&B's to choose from in the area...

We had a lovely one night stay here to attend a wedding at Danby Castle. Couldn't fault it. Rural location with stunning views. Nice clean rooms with home comforts and a fabulous breakfast. Linda couldn't have been more welcoming. Great value for money. Highly recommended!

We spent two nights here en route to Scotland. Rowantree Farm (a working dairy farm) is in the most stunning place in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, I mean just idyllic, owls hooting outside at night and amazing views over the dale. You get a really warm welcome from Linda and possibly a dog or cat or two, and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Linda and Stuart Tindall welcome you to Rowantree Farm, a third generation dairy farm, nestled below Ainthorpe Rigg in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors, 13 miles from Whitby, on the outskirts of the village of Danby. The sandstone house dates back nearly 200 years and still has original beamed ceilings. Our fully centrally heated, non-smoking establishment offers a residents lounge with colour TV/ video and we have a small library of books for all ages, plus board games/jigsaws and videos for our younger guests. Children of all ages are always welcome and we can provide a cot and high chair if required. We have a separate dining room where breakfasts are served. Both of our bedrooms have a washbasin, beverage tray, hairdryer and radio/CD alarms clocks. Each room has its own private facilities, a shower room or a bathroom, the choice goes with the first booking on that date. We have our own private water supply straight from a spring on top of the moor and the water is wonderfully soft. Both bedrooms have beautiful panoramic views. We are within walking distance of an historic coaching Inn, where freshly prepared meals are available 7 days a week. Other Inns/Pubs are located in neighbouring villages. The North Yorkshire Moors Information Centre is situated in Danby, where information on walks and other activities can be obtained, as well as an outdoor play area. The coast is easily accessible by road or by travelling down the Esk Valley Railway to Whitby (stopping off at Grosmont to access the North York Moors steam railway to Pickering, via Heartbeat country). Rowantree Farm makes an ideal base for walking, mountain biking, riding or just relaxing in our peaceful, idyllic, off the road location. We have an indoor cycle store for security, available for our guests who bring their own bicycles. We have plenty of car parking space available. ... more   less
